In the same way that Randy Orton came out of nowhere, Realme has emerged unexpectedly in the market for smartphones and has been producing banger after banger. The fact that this pattern is maintained by the Realme GT 2 shouldn’t therefore come as a big surprise.
This is another another flagship-level competitor, much like the original GT was. The camera has been improved (due to an upgrade to the Sony sensor you’ll find in devices such as the OnePlus Nord 2), the battery capacity has been increased, and the whole design has been modernized totally. However, this sequel comes with solutions to pretty much all of the problems we had with the model from the previous year.

Realme GT 2 review: Design

Many Realme phones have weird styles that are meant to catch your eye right away. Some of its phones have big words on the back that make them look like moving ads for the company. On the other hand, the Realme GT 2 is quiet. But, in true Realme style, it’s still anything but ordinary. The creator of the back of the phone, Naoto Fukasawa, signed his name in a smooth rectangle near the top of the phone. You can buy this smartphone from its official website
Realme GT 2 review: Display
The screen of the Realme GT 2 shows the first big difference between this phone and the Realme GT 2 Pro, which costs more. It is an AMOLED screen that runs at 120 Hz and has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The 1440p screen on the Pro version has a higher resolution.
There is a clear change, but the Realme GT 2 screen is still very clear. It’s also bright, and you can decide how colorful it will be. The “vivid” mode is set to the DCI P3 standard for a wide range of colors. “Natural” is more like sRGB, and “Pro” lets you choose between DCI P3 and the OLED panel’s native range for even more vivid colors.
Realme GT 2 review: Cameras

Even though the Realme GT2 has a lot of the same features as phones that cost more, there are a few key places where the price was taken into account. One clear example of this is the camera setup. Even though it has a trendy 50MP sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture, it doesn’t have the bigger ultrawide sensor or the innovative “microscope” lens that the GT2 Pro has. Instead, only one 8MP sensor is used as a back-up, which is a big drop in quality from the original.
Realme GT 2 review: Performance
If the Realme GT2’s camera is a compromise, then the phone’s speed is the exact opposite. With the hottest chipset of 2021, a lot of RAM, and fast storage, everything is in place for a promising performance, which is exactly what is given. The Realme GT2 has very few problems, whether you are swiping through the menu or playing a game with a lot of graphics.
Running a game with a lot of graphics, like Genshin Impact, at high graphics settings can make it run a little hot, but for the most part, this phone is like a rocket in your pocket. The high refresh rate screen helps give the feeling of speed, but many games still can’t take advantage of the higher frame rates.
Realme GT 2 review: Battery life
This part is one of the best things about the GT 2. For starts, the phone’s big 5000mAh battery means it can last a long time. Since we spend most of my day at home on a computer, we are usually a light user, which means we could get three days of use, but even on the weekend, when we are not tied to a desk, it served me just fine. When we put all the phones through the PCMark Work 3.0 battery test, it lasted an amazing 11 hours and 46 minutes, which was longer than most of the other phones.
Price and Availability
The Realme GT 2 is now available in the official shop. Depending on which model you choose, the phone costs either £499 or £549. There are two versions of the phone, so for the base price, you can get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For an extra £50, you can get a very amazing 12GB/256GB.
Final Words
The Realme GT 2 is another good phone from the company, but we think it’s more of a flagship replacement than a flagship killer. It fits between last year’s GT and the new GT 2 Pro. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy it; it’s just less clear-cut this time. Since the first GT came out, not much has changed. The specs are mostly the same, and we personally like the striking vegan leather design better than this new biopolymer one. With a higher price and the entry-level model only coming in Steel Black, it has a harder time competing with other phones that cost the same or less.

FAQS
When compared to other phones in its price range, the Realme GT 2 is a great deal at Rs 34,999. It has a strong processor, a good main camera, and the ability to charge quickly. The paperback-style back is the icing on the cake. But it has a few problems, like a short battery life and problems with getting too hot while charging.
Keep in mind that for perfect coverage, the realme GT should have all the frequencies for all networks used in the United States. If it doesn’t have one of the frequency bands, it might still work on that network, but it might only work in certain areas.
