To schedule your computer’s automatic shutdown, perform the following steps: –

Click Search button in the taskbar and in the search box, type Task Scheduler.

When Task Scheduler opens, click Task Scheduler Library on the left sidebar.

In the right-hand pane, click on the Create Job option.

No pop-up window that opens, select the General tab.

Enter a name for the task, for example, Turn off computer.

Type the descriptive name of the task in the Description box.

Select radio button, Run whether the user is logged in or not.

Select the Run with highest privileges check box.

Select Windows 10 from the “Configure for” drop-down menu.

Now navigate to the Triggers tab and click the New button button.

A new popup window will open. Select Start task as On a schedule.

Click on the Diary option in the Settings section.

Next to the Start option, select the date and time you want to trigger this task.

Enter 1 in Recurring to each box.

At the bottom, check the Enabled option.

When finished, click OK to exit trigger settings.

Then go to the Actions tab and click the New button button.

In the new pop-up window, select Start a program from the Action drop-down menu.

Type shutdown.exe in the “Program / script” box.

Type the following in the Add arguments box (optional): –

When finished, click the OK button. button.

Now navigate to the Conditions tab.

Clear the “Start task only if computer is on AC power” checkbox.

Then check the box labeled “Wake up the computer to perform this task”.

Click OK.

Now the “Task Scheduler” will ask for a password. Enter your administrative account password and click OK.
