How to Fix ‘Chromebook Won’t Connect to Printer’ issue – Guide
Most printers that connect to a Wi-Fi or wired network can print from your Chromebook. Chromebooks do not currently support Bluetooth printing.
Step 1: Connect to the Internet
Important: Your printer and Chromebook must be connected to the same network.
- Turn on your printer.
- Connect your printer to a network. If you need help, follow the printer manufacturer’s instructions.
- Turn on your Chromebook and sign in if you haven’t already.
- Connect your Chromebook to the same network as your printer. Learn how to connect to Wi-Fi.
Step 2: Print a page
- To print the page, image or document you are viewing, press Ctrl + p.
- Next to “Destination”, select the down arrow
. - Select See more…
- Choose your printer. Tip: Some printers will show automatically up in this list. If you don’t see your printer in the list, you can select Manage.
- Select Print.
Scan a document
Important: Before attempting to scan, make sure your printer is capable of scanning.
- In the lower right corner, select the time.
- Select Settings
. - In the lower left corner, select Advanced.
- To open the Scan application, under “Print & Scan”, select Scan.
- Alternatively, to find the scanning application, open Launcher
and search for Scan. - To select your scanner, under “Scan” select the right down arrow menu.
- Tip: You can customize color mode, page size, resolution and scanning options in “More settings”.
- To start your scan, select Scan button.
Add your printer to your Chromebook
- In the lower right corner, select the time.
- Select Settings
. - At the bottom, select Advanced.
- Under “Print and Scan”, select Printers.
- Under “Printers Available to Save” next to the printer, select Save.
- Make sure your printer appears at the top under “Saved Printers”.
