Whenever you need to figure out a long-forgotten password for a specific website, Chrome protects it, but only if you’ve previously allowed it to be saved.

View saved Google Chrome passwords on Windows, Mac, Chrome OS and Linux

Since you use the Chrome browser to view your passwords, the process is the same for all operating systems except the security prompt.

Launch “Google Chrome” on your computer and click on the “vertical ellipsis” (Menu) in the upper right corner of the screen.

Now, select the “Settings” option. Another way to access the Settings page is by typing “chrome://settings” into Chrome’s address bar.

Click “Autofill” on the left.

Select “Passwords”.

You’ll see a list of all passwords for websites you’ve previously allowed Chrome to save. To reveal a specific password, click the “eye” icon next to it.

In the “Security” window, you will get a prompt asking you to enter your “Windows Account PIN” or your “Username/Password” if a PIN is not used. Mac, Chrome OS and Linux ask for the OS “username and password”.

Your password for the selected website is displayed. To hide it, click the “eye” icon once more.

Viewing saved Google Chrome passwords on your Android or iOS device is a relatively simple process that is the same on both operating systems.

Launch the Chrome app on your mobile device.

Tap the “vertical ellipsis” (three-dot menu icon) in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Tap on the “Settings” option.

Then select “Passwords”.

You will see a list of all the websites for which you have already saved passwords in Chrome. To view a specific password, select the site from the list.

To view the password, tap the “eye” icon.

An Android or iPhone security screen appears, asking for the “PIN” or “password” of your operating system. Afterwards, you will be returned to the previous screen, except the site password now appears.

Tap the “eye” icon once more to hide the password if you like, but it will automatically hide when closed. Tap “Done” to return to the password list.
