On macOS the process is pretty much the same as we do on Windows from the tech giant Microsoft, the first thing you have to do is click on the Disk Utility application.

It’s a system tool, which you’ll see along with the rest of the apps you’ve installed on your macOS.

Now the way to go is “Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility”, although you can also do a search directly by writing Disk Utility.

After opening the Disk Utility tool, now the first thing you need to do is select the drive whose file system you want to change from the column on the left, which is where the internal and external storage drives are displayed.

Once the external drive is selected, now just press the Delete option that you will see just above the information of the selected drive.

A window will now open in which you will be asked if you want to delete the drive, in which process you can also change the file system.
