How to Enable live captions in Chrome

To enable Live Caption in Chrome from the desktop:

Go to Chrome settings by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner.

Now, click on the Advanced section in the side menu.

From there, go to the Accessibility section.

Here you will see the “Live Caption” button-active toggle next to it.

Live Caption in Chrome takes some time to download the speech recognition files and then it will activate.

How to Use live captions in Chrome

After enabling the feature in your browser, restart Chrome. Now open and play any video or audio file and activate this feature tapping the music icon next to the Extensions icon. When tapping this icon, a box will appear with live subtitles.

After activating it once, you won’t need to go through the same process again to use the feature. Live subtitles will start appearing in a small moving box at the bottom when you play any video or audio. Live subtitles will also work even when the audio is muted.
