Google and Samsung are looking to take over Apple’s SharePlay feature introducing live sharing in the Google Duo video calling app. The feature will launch on the newly released Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 devices, which allow users to watch videos together and view a whiteboard online. The development was announced by Google during the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event. Samsung’s new flagship phones will also support YouTube views in messages to provide an enhanced experience.
With support for live sharing, Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 series users will be able to brainstorm ideas in the Jamboard whiteboard app, share ideas and images in Samsung Notes and Gallery, watch videos on YouTube, or search for locations on Google Maps, according to with Google. Engadget reports that in addition to the latest Samsung devices, Google Pixel phones will also support live sharing via Google Duo. Exact details on which Pixel models will be supported are not yet known.
