How to set up and manage your child’s Facebook Messenger Kids account – Guide

In December 2017, Messenger Kids was developed as an alternative to regular Facebook Messenger, but with a young audience in mind. They are specifically between 6 and 12 years old. To define up Account

First, you need to download Messenger Kids app from the App Store, Amazon Appstore or Google Play Store on the device your child uses.

You need to open the app on the device and tap Next.

You must tap Confirm.

You need to enter your Facebook login information and tap Authorize Device.

You need to enter your child’s name and tap Continue.

You need to tap Create Account and follow the onscreen instructions.

After successfully creating the account, your child will have to complete the steps mentioned below.

Manage your child’s Messenger Kids account

You can manage your child’s Messenger Kids account using the Parent Dashboard. To access the Parental Dashboard on an Android or iPhone:

Open the Facebook application.

Tap , scroll down and tap Messenger Kids.

Tap your child’s photo below Messenger Kids Accounts.

You’ll notice that your dashboard is organized into three tabs:

Tap Activity to see your child’s contacts, groups, reports, blocked contacts and recent pictures in chats.

Tap Contacts to add and remove contacts.

Tap Controls to access parental controls and add additional parents or guardians.

To access the Parent Dashboard on a computer:

Log in to your Facebook account.

In your News Feed, navigate to the Explore section on the left side of your homepage.

Click on your child’s name on the left.
