How to Get Fortnite Two Factor Authentication (2FA) On PC, PS4, Xbox – Guide

It might not look sexy, but Fortnite 2fa is important. Fortnite’s two-factor authentication means it’s harder for anyone to break into your account once they get your password, which can easily happen due to leaks and privacy breaches unless you use unique passwords for everything. It’s basically like an extra padlock to choose from that makes it harder for players to try their luck and if done correctly means only you can access your account.

Two-factor authentication in Fortnite works by allowing you to log in in two steps. So instead of a single password that takes you directly to your account, a 2FA code is also required. This will be sent to you and only you, which means that without it the password by itself is useless. This protects you and your account from malicious logins, making it much, much harder for anyone to get lucky with a leaked password.

Of course, not only does this make your account more secure and protect all your hard-earned gear, it also gives you a unique Boogie Down emote, which you can only get by activating Fortnite’s two-factor authentication. And if you’re also playing Save the World, 2fa offers 50 armory slots, 10 backpack slots, and a legendary Troll Stash Llama.

Enable 2FA in Fortnite on PS4/PC or Xbox console

For players like me, our PUBG and Fortnite skins, emotes and accounts are even more important to us than our university ID cards. We can go from Royale Pass missions to spending all our in-game money to have that weapon skin or emote.

But, what can we do to keep our accounts more secure? We have an option in Fortnite that is essentially a way to keep our Fortnite accounts more secure called ‘Two Factor Authentication, which in short is called 2FA’. We are here to tell you the procedure to enable 2FA on Fortnite accounts on different gaming devices.

Procedure to enable 2FA in Fortnite on PS4/PC

Open up the internet browser on PS4 or PC and type Fortnite.com/2FA in the address bar

When taking you to the Epic Games website, you must log into your Epic Games account on PlayStation Network or PC Network by entering the ID along with the password

Now, in the Epic Games account setup, go to the Password and Security section

Scroll down until you find an authenticator app toggle

click on the button to call. We have three options to enable 2FA in Fortnite-

(Using the Authenticator app): You must download the Authenticator app on your mobile phone and using this app, scan the QR code on your PS4/PC web browser.

You will receive a limited-use token. You must enter the token correctly in the app on PS4/PC. Be sure to enter the token right away as it expires quickly

(SMS Notification): This is a very simple and familiar option. You will receive a code on your phone. Enter the code on your PS4/PC

(Email notification): Another self-explanatory option. You will receive the code in your email. Code entry on your PS4/PC2FA is now enabled for you on PlayStation4 or PC. You will receive the ‘Boggie Dance’ emote as a reward for keeping your account safe.

The procedure for enabling 2FA on an Xbox console is not much different from the procedure for enabling it on PS4/PC, but there are minor changes mentioned below-

Unfortunately, Xbox owners cannot enable 2FA in Fortnite through the console’s own interface. Instead, log in to Xbox Live with your Microsoft account.

Go to the Security Settings page.

In 2-Step Verification, select “Set up two-step verification” to activate it.

Enter the required information and you have enabled 2FA on your Xbox console.

If this method doesn’t work, install an Authenticator app that supports ‘TOTP algorithm’ such as Google Authenticator, LastPass or Authy.

Once you’ve downloaded the Authenticator app, go to your Settings.

Select Profile, tap Two-Factor Authentication, and toggle the toggle on to enable 2FA.
