How to Find out where a program is installed in Windows 11

From the Windows Start Menu

On the taskbar, click the Search icon.

In the search bar, type the name of the application you want to find the installation location. In the example below, I used Skype as an example. In the best match results, right-click the application and click the Open file location option from the context menu.

When the Start menu folder is opened, right-click on the application shortcut and click on the Open file location option again.

That’s it. Now you will immediately land in the folder where the necessary program is installed.

From the Properties window

This method only applies if you have a desktop shortcut available for the application.

Via Task Manager

From File Explorer

Right-click on the Windows Start menu icon and click on the File Explorer option.

In the left pane of the window, click This PC and in the right pane of the window, double-click the Drive where the application is installed. This is usually the C drive.

Inside C drive, your application will be in Program Files or inside Program Files (x86). Check inside both folders.

Now, inside the Program Files folder, you can easily find the application you are looking for.
