The design of the Atom SE is similar to that of the DJI Mavic Mini 2 in that the front and back propeller arms have to be opened up for flight. When folded, the Atom SE is only 3.5 x 5.6 x 2.3 inches (w x l x h), or 88 x 143 x 58 mm (w x l x h). Even when it’s open, it’s still a small drone, measuring 8.3 x 6 x 2.3 inches (210 x 152 x 58 mm) without the propellers.
When you add in the propellers, battery, and microSD card, the model weighs only 8.8oz / 0.55lbs / 245g, making it very easy to carry. Batteries weigh 3.6oz/0.22lbs/103g and are said to give up to 31 minutes of flight time. Our tests were done in near-freezing temperatures with wind, so flight times were shorter but still good despite the bad weather. There is a space for the cable that connects the controller to the phone, and the control sticks can be put away at the bottom of the controller when they are not in use. The Android and iOS apps for PotensicPro are easy to use.

Potensic Atom SE review: Design

The propeller arms on the front and back of the Potensic Atom SE fold out when it’s time to fly, making it very small and easy to carry. When folded, the drone is only 88x143x58mm, and when it’s open, it’s 210x152x58mm (without the propellers). Even with a battery and a microSD card, it weighs 8.64oz, or 245g. This puts the drone in a category where it is easier for regulators to keep an eye on it because it weighs less than 250g. This means it can be flown closer to people and built-up areas than larger and heavier drones, but you should check local laws to be sure what you can and can’t do. you can buy this drone from its official website
Considering how much the Atom SE costs, the build quality is pretty good. And the overall design and light grey frame look like the DJI Mavic Mini 2. The 103g, 2500mAh batteries are said to give the drone a flight time of up to 31 minutes. When tested in temperatures close to 0°C, the drone flew for about 20 minutes while hovering, flying, and taking videos.
Potensic Atom SE review: Camera Quality
The Potensic Atom SE has a 12MP Sony CMOS sensor that can take 12MP photos in JPG and RAW (DNG) formats as well as 4K HD video at 30 frames per second. It has a field of view of 118° and a vertical adjustment range of +20° to -90°. ShakeVanish electronic stabilization is used by the camera to smooth out video footage. Instead of the smooth rolling back and forth that FPV drones make, the Potensic Atom SE’s videos look like someone put an action camera at the bottom of a pendulum and made it swing quickly from side to side.
Even though all of this sounds good, it’s too bad that the Atom SE’s video capabilities leave a lot to be desired, especially when the lighting isn’t great. The video doesn’t feel like 4K, and it looks grainy most of the time. There’s no shaking, which is good, and you can change the vertical angle of the camera. But other than that, it’s hard to say much good about the camera on the Potensic Atom SE. Because of how the drone moves and because it can’t handle wind, the video is often jerky and not level.
Potensic Atom SE review: Performance

One problem with a locked camera is that when the camera is rolling to stay in place in the wind, the horizon can be tilted instead of being straight. The camera can be moved, and it can be tilted vertically from +20° to -90°. This means that it can look up a little, but it can’t quite look straight down, even though it can be tilted to -90°.
In the center of the frame, the image quality is good in terms of sharpness, but the edges are not as sharp, which is true of most consumer drones to some degree. Even at low ISO settings between 100 and 6400, there is ISO noise, and photos have a noticeable vignette. Videos don’t have vignetting, probably because less of the sensor and lens are used than when taking photos.
Batteries and Flight Time
The Potensic ATOM SE is powered by a 7.2V, 2500mAh modular battery. This gives it a 29-minute flight time instead of the 31-minute flight time that was advertised. After being tested, the Potensic ATOM SE battery takes about two to three hours to fully charge. This is one of the few things that aren’t great about buying an ATOM SE. The drone does come with two batteries, though.
You can always buy an extra battery, which will give you a total of three. With two batteries, the drone can fly for up to 58 minutes, so buying more batteries might be a good idea. The lights on the ATOM SE batteries show how much power they have.
Potensic Atom SE review: The good and The bad
The Good
- Great price for how well it’s made
- Sub-250g drone
The Bad
- No collision avoidance
FAQs
The Potensic Atom SE is a great drone for beginners. It can be folded up and weighs less than 250g, but the camera controls for taking photos and videos are limited.
The drone is safe and stable because it has two GPS systems. When T25 has low power, a weak signal, or is out of control, it will automatically head back home. 2 BATTERIES: 2*Modular 1000 mAh batteries, maximum flight time of up to 18 minutes, control range of up to 300m.
