If you are using a Windows 11 PC and you have recently noticed that the drives in File Explorer no longer display the spacebar you are using. In either case, you can use the troubleshooting steps below to restore the bars on all drives. If you open the This PC option in File Explorer, you can see information about the different drives. Under the drive letter, used and empty space is displayed. This is the disk space bar.

Fix Windows 11 PC ‘Disk Space Bar Missing’ Problem

Reset “This PC” Folder Views

Open File Explorer and click This PC.

On the File menu, click Change Folder and Search Options.

Click the View tab and click Reset Folders.

Fix TileInfo registry value for Drives

Click Start, type Regedit.exe and press ENTER.

Access the following branch:

In the right pane, double-click the TileInfo registry value and set its value data to:

prop:*System.PercentFull;System.Computer.DecoratedFreeSpace;System.Volume.FileSystem

Exit Registry Editor. Open this PC. The disk space usage information bar should now appear.

Change view type

The issue may occur if you have made changes to the display type. As you can see, disk space is displayed when the display type is set to Tiles. If it is not, i.e. if you have set the display type to another option such as Details, then the issue is likely to occur. To fix the problem, you need to change the display type. Here’s how.

Open File Explorer.

Click the drop-down icon next to View.

From the context menu, choose Tiles.

It will instantly change the display type of device and units.
