How To Change Screen Resolution on iPhone – Guide

On the other side of the spectrum, some Android devices phones have it feature, which can reduce battery consumption. The jailbreak community has an answer to all iPhone concerns. Take Zoom to YouTube, for example. It helps users keep the notch out of the frame so the overall experience doesn’t suffer.

Likewise, developers have already found several jailbreak tweaks to change screen resolution on iPhones. Due to the changes Apple has made to the hardware and software, not all tweaks can work as a universal solution. Below are the steps to change screen resolution on iPhone.

How to change screen resolution on iPhone

  • Go to your Cydia app > Fonts.
  • You will be presented with the list of all your fonts installed on your device. The font we are going to use is not in Cydia, so let’s add it manually.
  • The next thing we’re going to do is tap on “Edit” in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • Now go to “Add” in the upper left corner of the screen. a pop-up will appear asking you to enter “Cydia/Apt URL”
  • Here you will type “bd452.com” As you type, tap “Add Source” It will take some time to check the URL.
  • After verifying that it will install, when finished. Tap “Return to Cydia”
  • Now you will see a new font added to your Cydia named “Bd452 Beta Repo” tap on the new font you just added, you will be followed to another page. Now you have to go to “tweaks” where we will find the adjustment and the adjustment is called “com.bd452.upscale”
  • Now tap on “bd452.upscale” once inside, tap on “Install” on the top right corner of the screen, it will ask for confirmation, now tap on “Confirm”
  • Now wait for it to load. Once installed. You have to tap on “Restart SpringBoard” at the bottom of the screen.
  • You will now be booted back to home screen, the next step is to go to the device’s “Settings”, scroll to “Upscale” and tap on it.
  • when open up upscale, here you can change the resolution of your device. You will have 4/4s, iPhone 5/5s, iPhone 6 and 6+ presets.
  • a pop-up message will be prompted, tap “Ok”. You will now be recovered back to home screen and you can see that your resolution has changed and your icons are a little smaller than before. If you go to your app drawer, you’ll see that all the options are a little smaller.
  • The advantages of having the iPhone 6+ resolution set on your iPhone 6 is that if you rotate the device, your screen will automatically switch to landscape mode, which is something exclusive to iPhone 6+ users only.
  • In case you want to enter the custom resolution, you have to do it manually, by going to Settings > Upscale in the lower section, you can enter your custom resolution in the “x” and “y” sections.
  • Now type “850” in the “x” section and “1511” in the “y” section. Before clicking “Apply”, make sure your cursor is in the “x” section, then tap “Apply”, you will get a message, tap “Ok”
  • Now go back to your home screen and you will notice that the icons are larger than before, and the resolution is adjusted by the amount you typed. If the resolution doesn’t suit your taste, you change it, experiment a little, and soon you will get the perfect resolution of your desire. Just make sure you don’t put a big number in the “x” section and a small number in the “y” section that would spoil everything up.
