End Task can be used when a program is unresponsive or frozen and allows the user to terminate an unresponsive program without having to restart the Windows tabs that allow you to monitor the applications, processes and services running on your computer. However, you will likely use the Processes tab more than anything else as you can quickly see how your system resources are being used, which can be very useful when trying to troubleshoot applications or find out why your computer is suddenly slow .
A process is an instance of a program that is running. Each process running on Windows is given a unique number called a process ID or PID. When you start an application, the operating system creates a process for an application’s executable file. It contains your current activity. If you notice that a running process is slowing down your computer because it is crashing, unresponsive, and consuming a high percentage of CPU and/or memory resources, you can terminate the process to kill it.
In previous versions of Microsoft Windows, when we right-clicked on any process running in Windows, we had the option to terminate the process right there. But in the latest version of Windows known as Windows 10, MS removed this option from there.
