Switch to Video mode and start recording your video normally. You would see an image icon in the lower right corner of the screen (as shown in the image below).
This icon is for capturing an image while recording a video. Simply click on the icon and you’re done. Now when you are done recording your video, you can go to gallery and there you will see your saved image and video at the top. This method does not require the use of any third-party application to capture a still image from a video. You can simply do this with the integrated camera app on your android phone.
Use a third-party app to take a photo of the video
There are many third-party apps available for Android that allow you to capture still video images. One such app is Video to Photo. It has more than 500 thousand downloads from the Google Play Store. The app is very small in size, only about 2MB. Talking about that features, there are two options available. One is Quick Capture and the other is Time Capture. The quick capture feature allows you to take a single photo based on selected time of video.
