  • Your network discovery will not work if blocked by Windows Firewall on your PC. To resolve this issue, you need to configure Firewall settings.
  • Open Control Panel.
  • Navigate to System and Security> Windows Defender Firewall> Allow an application or feature through Windows Defender Firewall.

    • Run troubleshooter

  • If network discovery does not work, running the troubleshooter is also a good solution.
  • To do this, just follow the instructions below.
  • Navigate to Windows Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshooting.
  • Click Network adapter and then click Run the troubleshooter.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
  • Then choose Shared Folders and run your troubleshooter too.

    • Update network adapter

  • If your network adapter is old or corrupt, there may be some network-related issues features. Therefore, if network discovery is turned off, you can try to update the network adapter.
  • Open Device Manager and find your network adapter.
  • Right-click on the driver and select Update Driver from the context menu.
  • Click Automatically search for updated driver software on the pop-up window and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update. After that, restart your computer to see if the error is resolved.

    • Reset Network Settings

  • If all of the above solutions do not resolve the issue. You may need to consider resetting your network. This action will revert all network-related settings to default values ​​without deleting the data on your computer.
  • To reset the network, you need to open Settings and go to Network and Internet. In the Status section, click Reset network in the right pane. After resetting the network, restart the computer to see if the problem is fixed.
