Other common issues include Windows 10 update troubleshooter stuck on troubleshooter, stuck on bit service startup, or not working. Start Cryptographic Services Using Service Manager

  • press windows button and R at the same time to launch the RUN dialog.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter. It will open the Service Manager.
  • Scroll down the list and double-click on Cryptographic Services.
  • Your startup type will be set to MANUAL on your system.
  • Set the startup type to Automatic. Also, click Start to immediately start this service if it is not running.
  • Click Apply and OK to save the changes.

    • Temporarily disable user account control

  • press windows button and S at the same time and type UAC.
  • Now click on Change User Account Control Settings.
  • Move the slider to Never notify and click OK to save the changes.

    • Disable antivirus and firewall software

    Security software sometimes prevents the Troubleshooter from searching the Internet for solutions (especially Microsoft Knowledge Base articles) or sending necessary information to Microsoft servers. Try disabling your security software temporarily and see if the troubleshooter works now. In some cases, it may be necessary to completely uninstall the antivirus program and switch to another antivirus solution.

    Change your group policy

  • Press Windows key + R and type gpedit.msc.
  • Press Enter or click OK.
  • The Group Policy Editor will now launch.
  • Keep in mind that this feature is not available in Home Windows versions.
  • However, there is a way to enable the Group Policy Editor in Home Windows 10 version.
  • In the left pane, navigate to the following location:
  • Computer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesSystemTroubleshooting and Diagnostics Scripted Diagnostics.
  • In the right pane, you should see three available entries.
  • Check the status of each input.
  • If it is set to Disabled, double-click the disabled entry and set it to Enabled or Not Configured.
  • Do this for all three entries in the list.

    • Run SFC Scan

  • Press Windows key + X to open the Win + X menu.
  • Now choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the list.
  • If the command prompt is not available, you can also use PowerShell (Admin).
  • When the command prompt opens, type sfc /scannow and press Enter to run it.
  • The SFC scan should now start.
  • Bear in mind that this verification may take up to 15 minutes, so don’t interrupt it.

    • According to users, you can fix this issue by running an SFC scan. Sometimes the Windows installation can get corrupted causing the Windows Troubleshooter to stop working. If the problem persists or you are unable to run the SFC scan, try the DISM scan. To do this, perform the following steps:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter to run it.
  • The DISM scan will now begin.
  • This scan can take more than 15 minutes to complete, so don’t interrupt it.

    • Make changes to your registry

  • Press Windows key + R and type regedit.
  • Press Enter or click OK.
  • Registry Editor will now open.
  • In the left pane, navigate to the following key:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionWinTrustTrust ProvidersSoftware Publishing
  • In the right pane, double-click the state button.
  • Set the value data to 23c00 and click OK to save the changes.

    • Repair your .NET Framework installation

  • Press Windows key + S and enter the control panel.
  • Select Control Panel from the results list.
  • Now navigate to Programs and Features in the Control Panel.
  • A list of installed apps will be displayed.
  • Select .NET Framework from the list and click Change or Uninstall/Change.
  • Choose the Repair option and follow the onscreen instructions.
