How to Make Videos Using Photos App on Windows 11 – Guide
The new Windows 11 Photos app is now available as some Reddit users received the update. Last week, Microsoft’s Panos Panay teased the new app, saying it would soon reach internal users. As expected, this update allows for some new functions, but it also brings UI changes across the board. Overall, the new Windows 10 version Photos app definitely looks very familiar. When opening the app, you will see your most recent images along with some shortcuts above to selected collections. The top bar menu has the same sections as before, but the overall design is slightly tweaked. Of course you can see rounded corners everywhere, but that’s about it for the changes in this view.
However, the changes are a little more significant when you open an image. As mentioned in the video we saw earlier, you now get a carousel at the bottom of the image viewer that lets you select multiple images at once. That way you can see them all side by side and add them to your favorites or delete them. When viewing a single image, you will see a floating toolbar at the top with shortcuts to rotate or edit an image, draw on it, delete it, and view information about the image.
New controls and editing interface
In any section of the Photos app, you can click on an individual image to access the new interface. There are some interesting changes as part of the redesign. For example, we’re getting a new toolbar with all the options aligned in the center and it’s a floating menu. If you click the edit image option, Photos opens the Crop & Rotate view and contains the most basic editing functions.
For example, you can change the straightening with a slider and change the proportions of your cut. You can also rotate the image, apply filters and more. These options are more easily accessible. there is a separate button called “drawing”, which allows you to make changes to the photo with a mouse, pen or finger.
New information panel
The information panel now appears on the right side of the window and can be accessed directly from the floating menu. It also received changes from WinUI. For example, each section has been updated with an icon so that the information is now easier to read.
Comparison tool and editor
As shown in the screenshot above, you can now easily compare up up to four photos in the Photos app. The new Photos app is still being launched and everyone should be able to experience the new experience in the coming weeks.
