How to Install firmware with Odin NAND Erase enabled

Download Frija’s Odin Tool and Firmware

  • First of all, you need to download Odin tool on your PC, so check compatibility and download accordingly.
  • Then you need to use Frija Firmware download tool to get official firmware for your Samsung phone or tablet based on your model and region and other specifications if needed.
  • After downloading the firmware, you also need to download Samsung USB drivers on your computer which will help you get PC connection with your device and also enable USB debugging on your smartphone.
  • Then you need to download the appropriate PIT file for your Samsung smartphone or skip if you don’t already know or have the PIT file.

  • Now, you need to access recovery mode on your phone that you can do using this method.
  • retain volume Up + Bixby + Power button for few seconds until recovery mode is accessed for flagship smartphones.
  • retain volume Up + Volume down + Power button to access recovery mode on midrange devices.
  • Next step is to proceed to ‘Wipe Data/Factory Reset’ by using volume button and tap on power button button to select the option and tap ‘Yes’ so that the phone will be off and then turn off the phone.
  • Now you need to turn on the phone in Odin or Download Mode.

  • You need to extract the downloaded Odin file.
  • Run “Odin3 v***.eve” which should install the software on your PC.

    • Flashing device with NAND Erase enabled

  • The next is to connect the phone and the computer using a USB cable.
  • The Odin tool on your PC will automatically detect the phone e ID: The COM port is highlighted on the screen which shows that the device is not connected.
  • Next up, you need to extract the Firmware file you downloaded and open the firmware folder, click PDA or AP button in the Odin tool and add the extension “.tar.md5” to it.Re-Partitioning
  • Note that there may be multiple firmware files with files like AP, BL, CSC, .PIT, etc, where you need to browse the firmware folder to find the file and ensure that “.tar.md5” is added as an extension if still has not been added.
  • Finally, on the left side of the Odin tool, you should see an Options tab where you need to check ‘Auto Reboot’, ‘Nand Erase’, ‘F. Time reset options.
  • You need to check ‘Re-Partition’ to enable it and browse the appropriate .PIT file in the firmware you just extracted and finally click ‘Start’ button.
  • This will start the flashing process and you should see the ‘Erasing NAND’ process going through the log box as well.
  • Finally, restart your Samsung smartphone and you are done.
