How to play Fortnite on iPhone Using NVIDIA GeForce Now – Guide
In an unforeseen twist, Fortnite has returned to iPhone and other iOS devices, but not via the App Store. In August 2020, Apple kicked Epic Games out of the App Store due to a legal dispute involving Fortnite. Epic Games claimed to have violated Apple’s terms of service by circumventing Apple’s fees by selling Fortnite in-game currency V-Bucks. iPhone and iPad users can now play Fortnite with Nvidia’s GeForce Now service, which will release a closed beta of Fortnite on final next week.
GeForce Now is a game streaming service that streams next-gen PC games. There is a free membership option that allows for a one-hour gaming session with a simple PC setup. Then there’s Priority membership, which for $100 a year allows up up to six hours of game streaming from an RTX-enabled high-end PC. Finally, there’s the RTX 3080 membership, which for $200 a year gets you eight hours of gameplay at a time on an RTX 3080 system.
The return of Fortnite for iOS is only available through GeForce Now and one of those subscription options. Fortnite running in the GeForce Now closed beta is the mobile version of the game optimized for touch controls and other 3rd party gamepad devices. This makes Fortnite the only game in the GeForce Now catalog with its own mobile version.
All other games on the streaming service need to be played with some sort of gamepad in order to work, making Fortnite much more accessible than the other services offered so far. The beta will run for a limited time only. So players will have to act fast if they want to use Spider-Man’s web-shooter on the go.
