How to Read Ebooks on PC – Guide
With e-books constantly replacing paper books, a decent e-book reader seems to be an essential necessity. There is good news and bad news: the good news is that you can download any book for free without leaving your home. The bad news is that you can only open these books if you have an e-book reader or dedicated software. Ice-cream eBook Reader will help you to read e-books on PC, saving time and money on purchasing books. Windows Explorer will open and you can browse your hard drive to find previously downloaded books. To add a folder with a complete set of e-books, click the Add Folder button button (it’s to the right of Add book button).
The drag and drop mechanism can help you to add both the books of the formats supported by the program (ePub, MOBI, FB2, PDF, CBZ and CBR) and the folders with the files. This includes reading them on your computer, phone, tablet or e-Reader (such as a Nook or Kindle). The good news: it looks heavier than it is. I will give you step by step instructions on how to read different eBook file formats on different devices as well as on the web.
read online
To read online (without downloading):
You don’t need to download any software to read this way, because your books just open up within the same browser you use to browse the web. It is compatible with all major browsers.
download
Our e-book files are encrypted to prevent piracy, and you will need to install a program to download them successfully.
Install Adobe Digital Editions (ADE)
Authorize ADE
After installing ADE, you will need to “authorize” the software. This step is necessary for your eBooks to be unlocked when you download them. Here it is how to authorize ADE:
On the next screen, you will be asked to enter three fields, an “eBook vendor”, your Adobe ID and your password. For eBook Vendor, leave this as Adobe ID. If it doesn’t say “Adobe ID”, select it from the drop-down menu. If you already have an Adobe ID, enter your Adobe ID and password in the remaining fields and click Authorize. If you don’t already have an Adobe ID, click the Create Adobe ID link. This will take you to the Adobe website where you can register an Adobe ID (or click here). Return to ADE, enter your Adobe ID and password in the remaining fields and click Authorize. Write down your Adobe ID and password in case you need to deauthorize your computer and reauthorize a new computer.
