Google Meet is available on the web and at phones and tablets for Android and iOS. Google Meet is primarily intended for video conferencing. However, you can enable the camera and microphone independently, so you can use it for audio calls only if you want. You can create ad-hoc calls and invite your friends and family. They can join by typing in the meeting code, or you can send them a link they click on. One of the best features of Google Meet is that you don’t need to install any software on your desktop.

How to Schedule a Google Meet meeting

Schedule a Google Meet Meeting on PC

  • To schedule a Google Meet meeting using your PC, launch your web browser and open Google Calendar. In the upper left corner of the window, click the “Create” button button.
  • a pop-up window will appear. First, click on the “Add Title” text box and give your event a title.
  • Then set the meeting date by clicking on the currently set date and choosing a new date from the displayed calendar. For example, to choose August 27, click “27” on the calendar. You can change the month displayed by clicking the left or right arrow in the upper right corner of the calendar.
  • Now choose the start and end time for the meeting. The first time is the meeting start time and the second time is when the meeting ends. Click on the currently displayed time and a drop-down menu will appear. Select the desired time from the menu.
  • If this is a recurring meeting, you can choose how often the meeting should be held. Click the down arrow next to “Does not repeat”.
  • A list of options will appear. The options displayed depend on the set date of the meeting. Choose the desired option from the list. If you don’t see one that works for you, you can choose “Custom” to create your own time for the meeting to repeat itself.
  • Then, add meeting participants to the calendar invite by entering their email address in the “Add invitees” box. You can add up for 100 guests.
  • After that, click on the blue “Add Google Meet Video Conferencing” button.
  • This will assign a Google Meet URL to your calendar event. Anyone invited to the calendar event can access the link.
  • Click “Save” to save the event to your calendar.
  • A message will appear asking if you want to send invitation emails to invitees added to the event. Click “Send”.
  • You have now scheduled the Google Meet meeting. When it’s time to join the meeting, click the event in Google Calendar, then click the blue “Join Google Meet” button button.

  • To schedule a Google Meet meeting using your smartphone, you will need to install the Google Calendar app for Android or iOS. Once installed, open the app and tap on the multicolored plus sign button in the lower right corner of the screen.
  • Four options will appear. Tap “Event”.
  • The event options page will be displayed. Tap the “Add Title” text box and give your event a name. Tap “Done” when done.
  • To change the date, tap the currently set date. A small calendar will appear. Tap the date you want to schedule the meeting.
  • After selecting the date, the option to adjust the time will appear automatically. roll the numbers up and down to select the time. Repeat these steps for the end date and time as well.
  • Then tap on the “Add people” option to invite people to the calendar event.
  • Enter your email addresses and tap “Done”.
  • Then tap on “Add Video Conferencing”. This will automatically assign a Google Meet URL to your event.
  • Finally, tap on “Save” in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • The event is now saved. Added guests will automatically receive an email alerting them about the event.
  • When it’s time to join the meeting, open the Google Calendar app and tap the event.
  • Then tap on “Join Google Meet”.
