You might be wondering why you should send a text message to a group of people instead of using one of the many online chat apps like Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber, Google Hangouts, Skype, etc. Well, the answer here is also a question. Have you ever used text messages to send individual messages? Yes, you most likely resort to SMS format in some cases. It’s because? If you are in an area where Wi-Fi connection is not available and you use mobile data, a simple SMS can save a lot of data and time when sending the message. So there may be times when you need to resort to group texting, and if you know how to send them, it can be a big help in the organization.

Messaging Group on Android

You’ll start by creating a default group to post messages. just go to the home screen and tap the Contacts icon.

Now, at the top of the screen, click on the Groups icon. Everything phones it will be different here. You may have to tap the Add Groups icon or the Menu button to find the Groups option.

Here, enter a group name and even remember that name for later use, then tap the Save icon and you’re done!

Now, to add contacts to this group, you can tap the group you created and there you can select Add contact option. You will get a list of your contacts and then you can choose all the people you want to add.

Your group has now been created and you can now send group messages. Go to home screen and tap the Message app. Tap the recipient field and select the contact icon which will show all your contacts and from here just select the group to send the message. Now tap the Done icon and now you can start writing the message and then you can send the message to that group.

Now you can start sending group messages!

Group messaging on iPhone

First, open Message and tap the Compose New Message icon.

Now type the phone numbers or the email-id of the people you want this message sent to.

Now enter the message you want to send and tap send.

Another more popular and efficient way to send group messages on iPhone is to use iCloud-

You will need to log on to www.icloud.com with the help of your Apple ID.

Now, just click on the Contacts icon and then click on the + icon at the bottom. Now a menu will appear up and from there, select New Group.

Enter a name for this new group and tap outside of this box and the name will be saved!

Now you need to enter contacts in this new group and to do that click on the All Contacts group and look for the first person you want to add or use the search bar to do this.

Now drag their name over the new group and just drop it there and that contact will be added to the group.

You can add more contacts by repeating the step above. You can add names to more than 1 group and yes, you can make as many groups as you like.

Now launch the contact app on iPhone and when you tap on groups, you will find the new group there.
