How to Transfer Music from Google Play to YouTube – Guide

The Google Play Music website and mobile apps stopped working for all users globally in early December. It was the most significant step in the move to YouTube Music, but there is still one more step to go. Transfer your Play Music library to YouTube’s successor service before February 24, or download using Google Takeout. However, you can no longer use Google Takeout to download songs that have been uploaded to Play Music or to view past data. Things like playlists and your taste preferences will transfer almost instantly, with uploads and purchases taking longer as Google is making a direct copy of these files.

When the transfer is complete, you will receive an in-app notification and an email confirming that everything is ready. After everything is done, take a look around and make sure everything was done successfully. You should now also see a “continue listening from Google Play Music” line in the home screen to make the transition a little smoother as you become more familiar with the YouTube Music app.
