How to upload photos to Google Photos – Guide
Google Photos is a fantastic way to view your photos, and the advanced search makes it easy to find photos of a specific person, place, or time. Prior to June 1, 2021, Google offered unlimited free storage for photos. Now things have changed. You only get 15GB of total storage from Google, which counts files in your Google Drive and Gmail in addition to Google Photos. So if you want to upload more photos and videos that exceed your 15GB limit, you will need to buy more storage space on Google One. Unfortunately, the unlimited storage option is currently not available.
You’ll have to look into other cloud storage options if that’s what you want. You can also release up space for photos and videos by deleting large files in your Google Drive. If, like me, you have a photo library full of photos you took before you had a smartphone, they are probably stored somewhere on your hard drive. That excludes Pixel owners, but the rest of us only have a few days left. As mentioned, now is the time to take action if you want to add photos to Google Photos without counting the storage limit.
