FOCUS ASSIST SETTINGS

You can get the hover assistant settings in several ways: by clicking “Settings” > “System” > “Focus Assistant”, using the taskbar search icon to find “Focus Assistant” or by clicking the clock on the system on the right edge of the taskbar and then under “Setting the focus assistant Once you’re there, there are two main sections.

The first section allows you to turn the focus assistant on and off and set certain parameters when it is active:

“Priority only” limits active notifications to those specified in a priority list. You can define this list up selecting the “Custom Priority List” link just below the “Priority Only” subheading. You can have it always notify you of incoming calls, always notify you of reminders, or allow notifications from specific apps. Worried about missing something? If you check “Show a summary of what I missed when the hover assistant was turned on,” then you will automatically be notified of all your filtered notifications as soon as the hover assistant is no longer active.

The second section, entitled “Automatic Rules”, allows you to adjust several predefined rules. You can turn each one on and off on this page, but if you want to change your settings, click on the name of the feature.

“During these hours” allows you to define specific times and days when the focus assistant will be activated. To edit the settings, select “During these times” and then on the next page, enable it.

You will be able to choose the starting and ending times of each session; whether it applies to everyday, weekdays only, or weekends only; and whether it will allow only priority or only alarms

The other features under “Automatic Rules” operate in much the same way. On the hover assistance page, click the toggle button to turn them on or off and click their names to adjust them.

“When I’m Duplicating My Monitor” kicks in when you have two working monitors; enable it so you can edit it to allow priority only or alarms only.

“When I’m playing” is pretty obvious; again, enable it to change it to priority only or alarms only.

Finally, “When I am using an app only in full screen mode” can also be set to be priority only or alarms only.

One last thing: when the hover assistant is active, you’ll see a small moon icon at the far right of the taskbar. Click on it and you can see all missed notifications.
