Emulation of the Switch is a thing, and Nintendo is obviously not happy about it because many first-party products frequently leak before their official release dates and typically operate on other devices at far higher resolutions and frame rates.
In the past, Nintendo has taken legal action against piracy and emulation, and most recently, it has resumed its DMCA blitz. In response to the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet leak, Nintendo is now going after screenshots of Switch games that have been posted on the website SteamGridDB.
The takedowns of this website concentrate on screenshots from six Nintendo Switch games, including The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Splatoon 3, and Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
Users of SteamGridDB can upload unique photos of games to display in their Steam library, and it appears that this feature may be used in conjunction with the Steam Deck and an emulator. These official Switch game graphics are being attempted to be re-uploaded by some people. Although there are numerous other Nintendo-related photos on SteamGridDB, the Japanese firm now only features the games stated above.
