The TOZO T6 is an affordable pair of true wireless earbuds that is ideal for commuters and athletes on a budget. The IPX8 rating for the earbuds and case is an enormous plus, but you should temper your expectations for these headphones. The microphone quality is poor, especially in less-than-ideal conditions, and the volume reaches its maximum whenever it is connected to a source device. If you can get past that, this can be a good headset, but there are other earbuds that do not automatically increase the volume upon reconnection.
At first glance, the appearance is both simple and elegant. A sleek black appearance paired with a compact charging case for storing them when they are not in use while simultaneously recharging their batteries. Two miniature earbuds with soft tips and a sturdy body are revealed once the case’s lid is flipped open and they are extracted. While not as compact as others, they are still quite small and stripped down to the essentials. When placing the TOZO T6 in your ears for the first time, you will need to take a few moments to determine the correct ear tip.
The pre-installed rubberized tips, which come in three different varieties, can be easily removed and replaced with smaller or larger sizes. Currently, it is crucial to achieve a fit that is snug but not too tight. This will create a good seal around them, preventing sound leakage. After that, you will know you have the correct tips if you can vigorously wiggle your head without the earbuds falling out. In terms of construction quality, TOZO impressed me. The charging case has a wonderful amount of heft, the magnets holding the lid shut have been consistently strong, and closing the lid produces a satisfying click. No amount of shaking or rattling is sufficient to dislodge the magnets holding the earbuds in place inside the tiny package.
The front of the case has four LED lights that indicate the current battery/charge status, and the Micro-USB charging port is covered by a flap (making the entire package waterproof up to one metre of water for 30 minutes).
The charging case will likely always be within reach, allowing for an additional 15 hours of playtime. Therefore, the next question is whether 15 hours of charge time is realistic. In our experience, the case required recharging after only twelve hours of use. Since each charge cycle takes roughly 5 hours, we expected TOZO to tout a longer charging time for the case itself.
