How to Save/Restore Lost Tabs in Chrome Browser – Guide
One of the most famous browsers, Google Chrome, has an amazing feature in your mobile version and that’s the tabs remain open no matter what. However, the same cannot be said for the desktop version tabs that get lost after a machine reboot or accidental closing of the Chrome browser. Here are some ways to save all tabs in Chrome and how to recover lost tabs if accidentally closed. in particular, the developers predicted such an event would happen and chose to reset the pages you browse.
Guide closed in the accident
If you simply clicked on the wrong pixel and closed an unintended tab, it’s easy to restore. You can simply right click on an empty area in the tab bar section and choose to reopen closed tabs.
You can also use a keyboard shortcut – press Ctrl + Shift + T (or Command + Shift + T on a Mac) and the last tab you closed will reopen in a new tab page.
Chrome or computer crashed
A computer crash is never a pleasant experience, but you don’t have to worry about Chrome losing your current session. Google Chrome can normally handle a crash when you lose all your open tabs. Normally when you restart Chrome it shows a “tab restore” button. This option will fully restore your last browsing session. Click on it and you’ll be right back where you left off.
If you don’t get this option, that’s fine. Click on the Chrome menu and hover your cursor over the history menu item. There you should see an option that says “# tabs”, for example “12 tabs”. You can click this option to restore your previous session.
Ctrl + Shift + T can also reopen locked or closed Chrome windows. You can keep pressing this shortcut until you run out of tabs and close windows to restore.
Restore recently closed tabs
Likewise, you can restore recently closed tabs by clicking the Chrome menu again and hovering your cursor over the history menu item. A brief summary of the pages you’ve recently visited will also be listed there.
If the page you want to restore is listed there, you can click to restore it. If it’s not there, you can try the next approach.
Guide you closed the other day
If you still don’t see the web page you want to retrieve, click the history submenu item (chrome menu > history > history). Or you can use the shortcut Ctrl + H (Mac: Command + Y).
This will show a complete history of the pages you have visited. You should be able to find the page you want there. You can even search your webpage’s history to make it easy if it’s been a while since you’ve closed or lost the tab.
Be careful – if you’re browsing anonymously (private mode) and lose your tabs, Chrome won’t remember them.
