How to Turn-on Dark Mode in MS Outlook on Android and iOS – Guide
Microsoft said about a year ago that it was working on a dark mode for Outlook in mobile devices and is finally starting to be rolled out today. Both iOS and Android versions of Outlook will have a new button to enable dark mode, and the Android version will also transition to dark mode when you enable power saving mode. The new option will complement Apple’s work in a system-wide dark mode on iOS 13, and Outlook for iOS and Android will be updated starting today.
However, Outlook is not the first Microsoft mobile application to acquire dark mode support. For Apple’s iOS 13 debut, Microsoft is working hard to bring the same dark theme to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, Planner and To-Do. Even the web version of Office.com is getting a dark mode update today, and the web versions of OneDrive and Planner will get the same treatment soon.
The instructions for enabling Outlook Dark Mode are identical for everyone mobile devices. If you don’t see the option for the theme, check for an app update. Dark mode should be available on Android version 4.0.4 (345) and higher. iPhone and iPad owners must have Outlook version 4.2.0 or later installed.
Alternatively, a third option called “Set by Battery Saver” is automatically activated when your mobile device enters battery saving mode. Dark mode won’t necessarily increase battery life, but it won’t hurt.
