Adobe Express, a product by Adobe Systems, has made waves in the digital design space. Catering to novices and seasoned professionals, it combines a user-friendly interface with robust features. This detailed review delves into its functionalities, evaluates its performance, and determines whether it’s worth the investment.
Adobe Express is fun because it has a massive library of templates for making all sorts of things, from brochures and stories to business cards and sneak peeks. You can also change the templates to fit your needs and add your own logos and icons to make them more unique. Using this software is easy because you can drag and drop files. Adobe added helpful features to the web version by incorporating AI technology to remove image backgrounds quickly, add design features, or even start your design from scratch by inputting a prompt.
These features benefit business owners, marketers, and other creative communicators, but most importantly. Adobe Express empowers everyone to become the best designer without any design experience. You can plan content, get suggestions for fonts, search for color palettes, collaborate with your team, and schedule your social media posts without leaving the platform.
Adobe Express: Description
Adobe Express is a cloud-based creative platform that lets anyone make social media graphics, promotional videos, and one-page websites that look like professionals made them. Small businesses, entrepreneurs, and people who want to make professional marketing materials but don’t want to learn how to use complicated design software will love this option. I’ve been impressed by how easy and powerful Adobe Express is for more than a year now.
It’s helped me make Facebook posts, landing pages for my website, and video ads, among other things. Adobe Express is a new version of Adobe Spark, made when three Adobe products were merged a year ago. The switch wasn’t quite finished back then, but now this service works on your desktop through a web browser or on your phone or tablet through a dedicated app. You can make designs on your computer, phone, or tablet, and it’s all free (well, mostly free).
What is Adobe Express?
Adobe Express is a graphic design program that you can use on the web. The developer’s products have become synonymous with editing photos and videos, but learning how to use them quickly and effectively is hard because they can do so many things. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Adobe had to respond to the rise of Web-based apps like Canva. In 2016, Adobe released a platform called Spark. A few years later, at the start of 2022, Spark became the basis for Adobe Express. This software is meant to help creative people of all levels make videos, social media posts, and marketing materials.
Adobe Express: Pricing

Adobe Express is free for anyone to use; however, Express offers a Premium option. When you pay, in this case, $9.99 a month for a subscription, you get more features and content. You can use the product for free. Because the paid version has so many benefits over the free version, it’s probably worth it if you like it.
They give you access to the Photoshop Express mobile app for iOS and Android, Adobe Spark Video for iOS for making video slideshows, Adobe Spark Page for iOS for quickly publishing on the web, and Adobe Premiere Rush for iOS and desktop for recording, editing, and sharing videos. You can also use Creative Cloud Libraries, which give you 100GB of online storage, all premium templates, 160 million stock photos, fonts, and branding tools.

Adobe Express: Getting Started
As an Adobe employee, I used this service and didn’t need a Creative Cloud account or a monthly subscription. There is one exception to this, though, which I’ll talk about later. I only had to use my Above ID, Google, Facebook, or Apple account to log in. I could also use my email address if I wanted to. There was a separate way for teachers and students to log in. After logging in, I was asked to choose an answer about what I wanted to use Creative Cloud Express for and how much design experience I had.
After that, I was good to go. The design process was based on templates that fit different needs, like an Instagram story or post, a YouTube thumbnail, a flyer, or a resume or menu. When I clicked on “show all,” I could see all the categories and how many templates were in each.
It was awe-inspiring how many choices there were. I saw that free and paid samples were mixed up, but a handy filter option made it easy to tell them apart. I could start from scratch if I wanted to, but using a template often made the process go faster. I could save my templates as I learned how to use this service better.
Adobe Express: Features

Adobe Express is a cloud-based app for making media that makes it easy for anyone to make great graphics for social media, promotional videos, and one-page websites. It comes with many useful features, such as:
???? Templates: Adobe Express has many templates already made, so you can quickly and easily make your projects. The templates are well-made and include posts for social media, banners, flyers, and presentations, among other things.
????️ Design tools: Adobe Express has many design tools to make your designs or change the ones that come with the program. There is a text editor, a photo editor, and a vector editor among these tools.
????️ Assets: Adobe Express also has a library of stock photos, videos, and graphics you can use in your work. These tools are great for people who don’t have their assets or don’t have time to make them.
???? Working together: Adobe Express makes collaborating on projects with your team members very simple. Others can see your projects and change them if they want to. You can also say things and keep track of changes.
???? Branding: You can make your branding kits in Adobe Express and save them. Your brand’s colors, fonts, and logos are in these kits. Afterwards, you can use these kits to ensure your projects have the same look and feel.
Adobe Express: Customization
Your editing space is well-organized: on the left are the same templates you explored earlier, text tools, Adobe Stock photos, thousands of black and white icons, backgrounds, etc., and on the right are pre-defined color palettes, tools to animate your design, layouts, and design options. The page’s center showcases your work. Although the mobile/tablet app layout differs, all features are the same. An ‘edit image’ sidebar appears on the right when you click on an object on your canvas. A cool feature is automatically removing the photo’s background. It most often works, but not always.
You can also change the item’s opacity, crop it, mask it with a shape, or apply effects like blur, color filters, and image enhancements. That sidebar displays text editing tools when you select a text field. It only has some of the features of more advanced Adobe services or software, but it can help you design nice projects quickly. Layer-based editing makes it easy to overlap and move objects. You can see all your layers stacked in the lower right corner of your canvas. Simply select one and drag it above or below another visually and effectively. It looks great, but that ‘free’ label has a catch.
Free In The Sense Of
The catch is that you can only use some of the features. When looking through the templates, you could tell the difference between the paid and free samples, so that was a hint. But this is more than that. If you play around with the automatic background remover, you might notice that, as we already said, it could be better. To get the results right, you can use tools to add or remove areas, but those are considered “premium” features.
Moving a project around is another cool feature only available in the premium area. Adobe means being able to change the size of your project automatically so it fits where it’s going to be shared. For example, if you were working on an Instagram Story, all of your objects would be moved around to fit a Facebook post with the click of a button.
This is a great feature that saves time, but it costs something. If you see a small golden crown icon on a tool, object, shape, photo, or other thing, it means that it is a premium item. Premium is a paid service that costs $10 a month or $100 a year but is paid for ahead of time. Even though those extra tools can be helpful, you can still design something with the free stuff without using those extra tools. It would take a little longer, and you couldn’t use some of the nicer templates, photos, and objects.
Adobe Express: Templates
There are a lot of professionally made templates in Adobe Express that you can use to make everything from graphics for social media to presentations to videos. I’ve used Adobe Express to make different kinds of content for my business and clients, and I’m really happy with how good the templates are. The templates are very simple to use, which is one of my favorite things about Adobe Express. Pick out a template you like, and then add your text, images, and logo to make it your own.
You can also change the template’s layout and design to give your content a unique look. Another great thing about Adobe Express is that the templates can be used in many ways. The same template can be used to make different kinds of content, like a graphic for social media, a slide for a presentation, and a thumbnail for a video. This can save a lot of time and work, especially if you need to make a lot of content quickly.
Adobe Express: Design Tools
I’ve been using Adobe Express for more than a year, and I love how useful the design tools are. It’s simple to use them, even for first-timers, and the results are great. The library of templates is one of my favorite parts of Adobe Express. It’s possible to find templates for everything, from blog posts and presentations to website designs. All of the templates are also very well made and look very professional. A great thing about Adobe Express is that it has a drag-and-drop editor.
It’s very simple to use, and it’s simple to make your designs. You can change the colours and fonts, add your pictures and videos, and add or remove parts of the templates. There are also some design tools built into Adobe Express. The text tool lets you add text to your designs, the shape tool enables you to add shapes, and the image tool lets you add pictures.
You can also change the size of elements, rotate them, and line them up with the center of the page with the align tool. If you want to design things more advanced, Adobe Express has some tools for that, too. One example is the background remover tool, which removes the background from pictures. Another is the magic resize tool, which changes the size of images without losing quality. And finally, the color picker tool lets you choose colors from other pictures.
Adobe Express: Video Editor
Since a few months ago, I’ve been editing and creating videos with Adobe Express, and I’m really happy with it. The platform is straightforward to use, even for people who have never edited videos. The many templates that come with Adobe Express are one of my favourite things about it. There are templates for all sorts of videos, from post videos for social media to videos that teach people something. It saves me a lot of time because I can always find a template that works for me.
You can easily add text to pictures and music to your videos with Adobe Express, which is another excellent thing. Just drag and drop the items you want to add to your video, and they’ll be added automatically. You can change the fonts, colors, and transitions in your videos to make them look and feel how you want them to. Adobe Express has helped me make videos for my blog and business. It’s also what I use to make videos for my kids. It’s helped me edit videos like a pro.
Collaboration Features
Adobe Express, which used to be called Adobe Spark, is a flexible design platform with many tools for making graphics for social media, videos, web pages, and more. Collaboration features are one of its best parts because they make it easy for people to share and work on projects together. The collaboration features in Adobe Express are very helpful. I work with a group of designers who are spread out across the world. Adobe Express helps us all stay on the same page and move projects along quickly.
In Adobe Express, all you have to do to work together on a project is click the “Share” button and invite others to join. You can choose different access levels for each team member, like “Can edit” or “Can view and comment.” People added as collaborators can then use their own Adobe Express accounts to get to the project. After that, they can change things, leave comments, and suggest changes. Since changes are saved right away, everyone can always see the most up-to-date version of the project.
Adobe Express: Mobile App
I’m pleased with the Adobe Express mobile app I’ve used for a few months. This tool is flexible and easy to use, so you can make content that looks professional while you’re on the go. Many different templates are one of my favourite things about the app. Every post type has a template, from social media to presentations to videos.
This makes it simple to begin a project, even if you’re not a skilled designer. The app also has many editing tools that let you change your creations in any way you want. The font, colours, and layout can vary; you can add text, pictures, and videos. This app also has AI-powered features that let you automatically remove backgrounds from photos, change photos’ size and shape, and more.
It’s easy to share your work with others, which is another great thing about the Adobe Express mobile app. You can send your work to email, messaging apps, or social media sites. You can also make links to your content that other people can use. I’m pleased with the Adobe Express mobile app in general. It’s a strong and flexible tool that lets you make content that looks professional while on the go.
Easy Switching Between Devices
One thing we liked about it was how well it worked with all of our devices. As long as you were logged into the same account on each one, you could start working on your computer, continue on your tablet, and make changes to it on your phone. Since everything is saved online, you can quickly work from anywhere on any device you choose.
Adobe Express: Download
You can get your finished work quickly and easily. You can choose from three file formats: PNG, JPG, or PDF. With the PNG format, you can also save a file with a transparent background. Pick the one you want, and it will be on your computer in seconds.
Adobe Express: Performance

Adobe Express is an app you can use on your phone or on the web. It has many creative tools that you can use to make digital content like videos, social media posts, and web pages. People who have never done design work before should be able to use it without problems. There are many templates, stock photos, and fonts to choose from in Adobe Express, which makes it simple to create content that looks professional.
The app also lets you edit and change your content in many ways, such as cropping, resizing, adding text and effects, and more. The speed and responsiveness of Adobe Express are good overall. The app works well on both computers and phones and loads quickly. Also, the editing tools work well and are simple to use. And there are a few places where Adobe Express could work better. Like, the app might lag sometimes when working with big files.
The tools for editing videos are also not as powerful as those in dedicated software made just for that purpose. To sum up, Adobe Express is a strong and flexible creative program that works well for many tasks. Businesses, people, and students who need to make digital content quickly and easily that looks professional should consider this option.
Adobe Express: Support
The program takes a while to get used to because it’s not easy to see all of Adobe Express’s features at once. Luckily, the developer has put together a lot of tutorials that explain the most important features of the platform. The online manual makes this even more clear. A chat button in the bottom-right corner of the screen will put you in touch with a virtual assistant. If you need more help, you can talk to a real person on the phone or computer from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday through Friday. The people who worked there were quick and helpful when we had questions during our evaluation. You could also post your questions in Adobe’s forum and get answers from other users in the community. Overall, we were thrilled with Adobe’s support and quick response to our questions.
Final Words
Adobe Express is what I use to make simple graphics or when I’m out and about. It replaced Canva in my workflow because it had more high-quality stock images, better fonts, and a better AI image generator. Adobe Express will be more prevalent in the next two years than Canva.
Adobe Express is a platform with a wide range of features that is simple to use. It has one of the most extensive template libraries we’ve ever seen, which is perfect if you have limited experience with web design or are looking for some ideas to get you started. The editor and all of its tools have a user-friendly interface. Because the user interface is straightforward and everything is non-destructible, it is easy to undo any changes. The editor has many ready-made features, but using them will not restrict your creative potential.
