Table of Contents
These days, there is an overwhelming variety of affordable television sets to choose from. You have a wide variety of options to pick from, and even if you want a really large television, you can get one if you’re willing to make a few concessions in exchange for it. Alexa and the Fire TV user interface are both pre-installed in the Amazon Fire TV 4-Series series of smart televisions.
Which are available in 43-, 50-, and 55-inch screen sizes, respectively. Although it is a step up from the 2-Series, this is primarily due to the screen sizes. Don’t allow the nomenclature fool you into thinking that these TVs are in the middle of the spectrum; in the grand scheme of things, they are the most fundamental models.

Amazon Fire TV 4-Series: Design and build

When you take the Fire TV 4-Series out of its packaging, the first thing you will notice is how light it is. This is due to the fact that it is encased in plastic and has glossy black plastic feet, in addition to the fact that it is relatively thin. If you are placing the television on a TV bench as opposed to mounting it on the wall, you will only need four screws to secure the legs to the bottom of the television.
Since the distance between the feet is 980 millimetres, the length of your bench needs to be at least that much. When looking at the TV from the front, the detachable power cord plugs into the side on the left, and all of the other ports are on the right. The bezel is not overly thick, and its surface is the same glossy black as that of the feet. You can visit its official website
Picture and Sound Quality
In general, the visual quality is adequate but nothing to write home about. If this is your first time purchasing a 4K television, you will be pleased with the picture quality whether watching 4K content from Netflix, Amazon Prime, or the BBC iPlayer’s nature channel. The colours look good, but they don’t leap off the screen like they do with QLED versions. However, you need to be seated directly in front of the screen in order for them to work properly.
If you move away from the centre of the screen, you’ll notice that they immediately begin to fade and appear notably washed out if you’re watching from the side. When compared to other HDR televisions, the maximum brightness of only 300 nits is somewhat disappointing. Although the Fire TV 4-Series is capable of displaying content in 4K HDR in both HDR10 and HLG formats, the difference between the two will be difficult to spot. To see the highlights properly, you actually need to increase the brightness by at least a factor of two.
Amazon Fire TV 4-Series: Voice Remote

The fact that this version of Fire TV is quite close to the front line of development is an extra promise that can be made. If there is a new feature in the works, it will most likely be implemented in this section first. Since it is obvious that all changes are performed automatically, there is basically nothing that you need to control.
The television does not actually come equipped with far-field mics; however, it does come packaged with the newest version of the Alexa Voice remote control. Simply depress and hold the microphone button for Alexa to listen to and respond to your voice command.
Final Words
The Amazon Fire TV is generally satisfactory. It works best in low-light conditions since it has trouble fighting off reflections. The strong contrast ratio makes it perfect for watching movies. It’s adequate for TV show viewing, and there are many of streaming apps to choose from. It’s not great for gaming or watching sports because of its poor response time, and HDR doesn’t improve things much because it can’t display a wide colour gamut and isn’t bright enough to let little highlights stand out.

The new Amazon Fire TV 4-Series is a rather good television that can be purchased for less than £430 and installed in your living room.
The Good
- Great selection of streaming apps.
