Since their release, Creative’s Pebble desktop speakers have been a huge success. They cost just $25 yet are surprisingly powerful in terms of sound quality, despite their compact size and fashionable design. As a result, it should not come as much of a shock that Creative has introduced a number of iterations and variants on the original Pebbles, the most current of which is the Pebble Pro.
The Pebble Pro is the most costly Pebble to date, coming in at a price of $59.99. This puts it $10 above the Pebble Plus, which comes with a subwoofer but not the Pebble Pro, which does not have a subwoofer. The Pebble Pro is a 2.0 two channel desktop speaker system that comes with built-in RGB lighting that can be customized with connectivity options including USB-C and Bluetooth 5.3.

Creative Pebble Pro: Design and Size

Pebble Pro speakers have dimensions and contours that are comparable to those of other Pebble products in the same line. Each of the speakers, which is in the shape of a pebble and is contained in a plastic chassis, measures 4.8 by 4.8 by 4.6 inches (123 by 123 by 118mm).
The speakers have a high-quality build and a sleek appearance; nevertheless, the chassis is prone to collecting fingerprints and proved to be quite challenging to clean in a smooth manner (as you can see from the photographs I took). There is only one colour option available for the Pebble Pro, and it is a dark green with a military vibe (called “Audio Green”), with dark grey faceplates and gold accents. You can buy this speaker from its official website
Creative Pebble Pro: Connectivity
There are three different ways that the Pebble Pro can be connected to external audio sources. The first method is by using USB audio through the primary USB-C connection. The second method is by using the AUX port, which accepts output from any 3.5mm source such as PCs, phones, or DAPs. Finally, the third method is by using Bluetooth 5.3, which provides wireless audio.
The Bluetooth connection because it enables me to seamlessly couple with my phone or even my PC, which results in a setup with fewer cables. Nevertheless, the SBC codec is the only one that is supported, which is a letdown for high-fidelity music; yet, given that I won’t be wearing these on my head to scrutinize every minute detail, I don’t mind too much.
You can use the Pebble Pro’s headset out connector to provide output other than the speaker drivers, at which point the Pebble Pro will function as a DAC/AMP. Additionally, the dedicated mic-in port has been improved with the addition of Creative SmartComms Kit, which can be obtained through the Creative software.
Creative Pebble Pro: Performance

The left and right speakers make up the Pebble Pro’s 2.0 dual-channel system. Each speaker features a full-range driver that measures 2.25 inches in diameter and a passive radiator that sits in the back. Speakers may be placed on a desk and directed at your ears thanks to the 45-degree slant of the drivers. Keep this in mind if you’re shopping for speakers that will be in a different location than your desk, as the angle isn’t adjustable and the speakers don’t appear to be very easy to fit into a generic stand.
The Pebble Pro sounds excellent for the price, with a frequency response of 80 Hz–20,000 Hz. The volume is sufficient when plugged into a standard USB port (up to 10W RMS), and it gets even louder when the 30W PD converter is used. The loudest the Pebble Pro got at 50% volume, as recorded by a handheld sound level meter from 3.3 feet (1 meter), was 69.4dBA (A-weighted decibels), while the loudest it got at 100% volume was 88.2dBA. Even at greater volumes, the speakers sounded OK; it wasn’t until about 78% volume when distortion became intolerable.
Final Words
For the price of the Pebble Pro or less, you can find excellent speakers. These premium speakers offer crystal-clear audio, plenty of volume, and a host of handy functions that can elevate your PC listening experience above the norm. The RGB lights are also a lot of fun to stare at.
Creative Pebble Pro review: The good and The bad
The Pebble Pro features a clean look that immediately grabs your attention and creates an impression.
The Good
- Clear, detailed audio
- Can get very loud
The Bad
- Higher volumes require less volume adjustments.
Questions and Answers
The Creative Pebble V3 is hard to criticize. They’re cheap and will vastly improve your office’s audio quality. Connectivity options include a USB cable, a 3.5mm cable, or Bluetooth. The lack of bass and sound controls is disappointing, but is typical of compact, low-cost computer speakers.
The subwoofer is more like a woofer, and the wires that protrude from the back appear like an embarrassing joke in this day and age of wireless headphones. However, the quality of sound is impressive for the price of $40.
