Most people know Edifier for its computer speakers and, more lately, its wireless earbuds. The Edifier MP100 Plus does not compete in either group. Instead, it aims to compete with the best cheap portable Bluetooth speakers. There are a lot of value-packed Bluetooth speakers out there now, so Edifier has its work cut out for it. Can the MP100 Plus give you something good enough to make you think about it over more well-known brands, Even so, it’s easy to get something from Tribit, Anker, or Sony for less than $50. For a real test of how well the MP100 Plus works as a portable speaker, we took it with me on my trip to an island. Taking into account the rainy monsoon season, my trip was a great place to test the Edifier MP100 Plus speaker.

Design and Features

The Edifier MP100 Plus Bluetooth speaker is a small, round speaker with a black-and-gray woven fabric rope wrapped around it. The rope ends in a loop at the top that can be used to move or hang the speaker. A small piece of plastic with the name “Edifier” written on it holds the rope together. The bottom half of the body is black plastic with green accents.
There is a green rubber circle at the bottom that works as a foot and keeps the speaker from moving around on whatever surface you put it on. On the bottom half, there are four buttons that are recessed: Power, Bluetooth, +, and -. There is also a small rubber flap over a USB-C charge port. The top half of the speaker is made of a mesh cloth that comes in either Forest Green or Lake Green. The colour of my review unit was Forest Green. You can buy this speaker from its official website

Then there are the JBL Clip 4 and the JBL GO 3, which are both great Bluetooth speakers that are easy to carry around and can handle water. Fans love the sound that JBL is known for, which was tuned by Harmon Kardon.
Even if your budget is small, Tronsmart is hard to beat. The Tronsmart Groove 2 can be put on any base and has RGB lights. It also has a brass clasp that is very strong. For good sound on the low, you can also think about the cheaper Tronsmart Trip.
