I appreciate Razer’s approach of refusing to install bloatware or other applications on a laptop for which users pay thousands of dollars. It’s nice to set up a brand new laptop and not worry about the annoying popups of begging antivirus programs or managing half a dozen applications with single-use cases. The only pre-installed app you’ll find outside the standard Window catalog is Razer’s Synapse program for Chroma lighting programming and customizing various profiles.

Available ports are identical to last year’s advanced Blade 15 model with an update: the three Type A USB ports now support USB 3.2 speeds up to 20 Gbps, while Type A ports of last year’s model only supports speeds up to 3.1. I called the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 configurations of the Razer Blade 15 for testing purposes and found that these laptops were performing well. The Razer blade is expensive, and there is no doubt. But as it replaces a severe gaming laptop and a standard laptop that you could use for work, its price is more bearable. The blade is not just a good gaming laptop. It’s a good laptop, period.
