How to Use Google Lens on Android Devices – Guide

Google has finally started rolling out its visual search tool, called Google Lens, to all Android devices, the company announced on Twitter. Until now, only the proud owners of Pixel devices could take advantage of Lens’ visual search capabilities. Use Google Lens through Google Assistant

Use Google Lens in the Google Photos app

Google has integrated Google Lens into the Google Photos app – a Gallery app that, today, comes pre-installed on almost every Android device. If your primary goal is to use Google Lens on an existing image, this can be done through the Google Photos app.

Launch the Google Photos app.

All images in your device’s Gallery will be displayed up on your screen. Navigate to the image you want to use Google Lens on and tap on it.

Tap the Google Lens icon at the bottom of the screen.

Wait a few seconds for Google Lens to kick in, scan the selected image and identify the points of interest in the image (which are marked with colored dots). Alternatively, you can tap the area you want Lens to focus on.

When you select a Point of Interest, Google Lens displays a description of the POI and, depending on the POI, provides contextually appropriate actions you can take.
