A lot of Windows PC users said they couldn’t use Google Classroom because it was stuck loading. Most of the time, the problem is caused by a broken browser cache, but that’s not the only solution. In this post, we’ll look at other ways to fix the problem. If you haven’t used Google Classroom before, you’re in for a treat. This is a very useful and easy-to-use tool.
It makes it easier to turn lessons into digital files that can be used in the classroom or online. Since this is powered by Google, it is always getting new tools and features to make it easier for teachers to use. You already have access to a lot of free tools that can help you teach better, easier, and with more flexibility. To be clear, this is not an LMS (Learning Management System) like Blackboard, but it can work in a similar way, letting teachers share materials with students, give assignments, do presentations, and more, all from one place that works on a variety of devices.
Google Classroom is a web app, so it works on Windows computers with browsers. If there is a problem with the browser, like a broken cache or cookies, it will affect the web app. Not just browser problems; the Classroom will stop responding if there is a setting that is not compatible with the services needed. Some users say that Google Classroom doesn’t open for them, and we have a few ideas for how to fix this. Look at them down below.
[Fixed]: Google Classroom Stuck at Loading On Window
Reinstall your Browser
- Visit Apps and features.
- Choose your browser from the list.
- Select Uninstall when you click on it.
- Start the computer over.
- Put the browser back on.
Disable Secure DNS
Chrome:
- Start Chrome
- Click the three dots.
- Choose the Settings
- Click on Privacy and Safety.
- Go to Advanced in the Security menu.
- Turn off the box that says Use secure DNS.
Edge:
- Open Edge
- Click on the three dots on the right.
- Choose the Settings
- Visit Privacy, Search, and Services
- Untick Use secure DNS to tell your computer how to find a website’s network address.
Disable Browser Extensions
When extensions conflict, the app or website might not load. By turning off and turning on extensions one by one, you can figure out which one is causing the problem. If the problem goes away when you turn off a certain extension, you need to get rid of that extension.
- Turn off all add-ons in the browser
- Start the app
- Turn on each extension one at a time and see if the problem still exists after each one.
- If the problem shows up after a certain extension is turned on, remove that extension because it is causing the problem.
Disable Hardware Acceleration
Chrome:
- Start up Chrome and go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and click on Advanced (if available)
- Clear the System When you can, use hardware acceleration.

Firefox:
- Open Firefox
- Click on Options
- Go to the General section
- Choose How Well You Did
- Uncheck the box that says “Use hardware acceleration when available.”
- Restart Firefox
- Start up Google Classroom and make sure it’s working right.
Check the network and Classroom status
Start with the network. Continuous loading, both on Android/iPhone or web clients, points towards network issues of sorts. Although, based on reports, most users haven’t had any connectivity issues and the only app/service that wasn’t loading is Google Classroom. Still, you can turn off your computer/smartphone and router, reconnect, and try again.
Also, make sure to disable VPN or proxy (adblockers like Blokada on Android, too) if you want to use Google Classroom. Turn off any ad-blocking extensions on the web (on Chrome for desktop or other web browsers) and try again. Also, check Google Classroom’s server status, because the service might be temporarily down.
Clear Cache
Cache is a group of temporary files that your browser or other apps store on your computer or other device. The goal of caching is to speed up the loading of frequently used data by keeping a copy of it locally so that it doesn’t have to be re-downloaded every time it’s used.
Chrome:
- Open Chrome
- Select More settings.
- Choose “More tools“
- Click “Clear browsing history.”
- Choose what you want to get rid of.
- Click the button “Clear data.”
- Start Chrome over
Firefox:
- Start up Firefox
- Select the three lines.
- Choose Library
- Click on History > Clear What’s Been Going On
- Check all the boxes that apply.
- Select “Clear Now“
