How to Add New Firefox Hotkeys – Guide
A considerable number of keyboard shortcuts are shared by all major web browsers. These keyboard shortcuts work in any browser, including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Apple Safari and Opera. While each browser has its own set of browser-specific shortcuts, understanding the ones they all share will be helpful when you transition between multiple browsers and PCs. There are some mouse actions included in this list as well.
How to Add new Firefox shortcut keys
Tabs:
Ctrl + 1-8 – Switches to the specified tab, counting from the left.
Ctrl + 9 – Switch to the last tab.
Ctrl + Tab – Switch to next tab – in another words, the tab on the right. (Ctrl + Page Up also works, but not in Internet Explorer.)
Ctrl + Shift + Tab – Switch to previous tab – in another words, the tab on the left. (Ctrl + Page Down also works, but not in Internet Explorer.)
Ctrl + W, Ctrl + F4 – Close the current tab.
Ctrl + Shift + T – Reopens the last closed tab.
Ctrl + T – Opens a new tab.
Ctrl + N – opens a new browser window.
Alt + F4 – Close the current window. (Works on all apps.)
Mouse Actions for Tabs:
Middle click on a tab – close the tab.
Ctrl + left click, middle click – opens a link on a background tab.
Shift + left click – opens a link in a new browser window.
Ctrl + Shift + left click – opens a link in a foreground tab.
Alt + Left Arrow or Backspace – Back.
Alt + Right Arrow or Shift + Backspace – Forward.
F5 – Reload.
Ctrl + F5 – Reload and skip cache, redownloading the entire site.
Escape – stop.
Alt +Home – Open the home page.
Expanding:
Ctrl and + or Ctrl + Mouse wheel Up – More Zoom.
Ctrl and – or Ctrl + Mouse wheel down – Zoom out.
Ctrl + 0 – Default zoom level.
F11 – Full Screen Mode.
Rolling:
Space or Page Down – Scroll down one frame.
Shift + Space or Page Up – Scrolling up a board.
Home – Top of the page.
End – bottom of page.
Middle click – scroll with the mouse. (Windows only)
