However, several Blizzard players have reported encountering a “Battle.net Launcher not open” issue on a Windows 10/11 computer when trying to launch the Blizzard Battle.net Launcher application to play Blizzard games on their Windows computer. This issue indicates that for certain reasons you will not be able to launch the Battle.net Launcher application and will not be able to play Blizzard games on your Windows 11/10 computer.

Fix Battle.Net launcher not opening or not working on PC

Delete Battle.net Cache Folder

Deleting a particular folder may reset certain settings used by the customer. Sometimes these files are not changed even when the file was uninstalled, so it is up for you to delete the contents of this folder to repair the client. First, you will need to close the Battle.net application and kill all processes related to it (Agent, Blizzard’s Battle.net desktop application, and game processes).

  • Use the Ctrl + Shift + Esc key combination to open the Task Manager. Alternatively, you can use the Ctrl + Alt + Del key combination and select Task Manager in the blue full screen that opens.
  • Click More Details to expand the Task Manager and search for all Battle.net related entries displayed in the Task Manager Processes tab list. They should be located right under Background Processes. Click on each one and choose End Task.

  • Click the View entry in the File Explorer menu bar and click the Hidden Items checkbox under Show/Hide File Explorer will now be able to show the Program Data folder, so double click to open it.
  • Locate a folder called Battle.net, right click on it and select Delete. Confirm the dialog and reopen the Battle.net application to see if the opening issue persists.

    • Run the application in compatibility mode with administrator permissions

    This interesting solution to the issue was suggested by a user who contacted Blizzard support and they suggested the steps below.   • Navigate to the main Battle.net installation folder, which depends on what you chose during installation. The default location is C:Program Files (x86)Battle.net.
  • Locate the net Launcher.exe file and change its properties by right-clicking its entry on the desktop, Start menu, or Search results window and choosing Properties. Navigate to the Compatibility tab in the Properties window and check the box next to Run this program as administrator.
  • In the Compatibility Mode section, check the box next to the Run this program in compatibility mode option and choose Windows 8 from the drop-down list before accepting the changes.
  • Be sure to confirm any dialogs that may appear for you to confirm with admin privileges and the network should start with admin privileges from now on. Open it by double clicking on its icon and try to see if it opens successfully.

    • Clean Booting Your Computer

    There are many other programs and services that can affect the normal functioning of Battle.net. In most cases, the cause is the antivirus you have installed and you can try disabling it to see if Battle.net can open. However, to ensure that nothing interferes with the application, we recommend that you perform a clean boot which will disable all non-Microsoft programs and services from starting. up.     • Reinstall the app

  • Click on the start menu button and open the Control Panel by typing its name with the Start menu open. On the other hand, you can click the gear icon to open Settings if you are using Windows 10.
  • In Control Panel, select View As – Category in the upper-right corner and click Uninstall a Program in the Programs section.
  • If you are using the Settings app, clicking Apps should immediately open a list of all programs installed on your PC. Locate Battle.net in Control Panel or Settings and click Uninstall.
  • Your uninstall wizard should open, so follow the instructions to uninstall it.

    • Enabling Secondary Login Service
