According to Riot Games, Valorant, one of the most popular first-person shooting games in 2023, has up to 3 million unique players log in daily since its release. Although it’s impossible to confirm the precise numbers, we can say that the game is quickly rising to the top of its genre in popularity. But like any other game, Valorant has bugs, and one of them is the “game requires restart” error, which we want to talk about today.
When attempting to play Valorant, a player may run into a number of technical issues. While some are simple to fix, others require a little more work. Every multiplayer game in existence has its flaws. All games occasionally contain bugs and errors. Therefore, in order to guarantee a smooth experience, game developers make every effort to limit the issues that users run into. However, while mistakes can happen on the part of the developer, they can also come from the client. For instance, Valorant’s “game requires a system restart to play” error is entirely the result of a client-side mistake.
Ways to Fix Valorant Game Requires Restart Error
Restart Your PC
Riot Vanguard might be shut down by Windows on its own, which can lead to memory management issues, especially if you only have 4 GB of RAM.
Run Valorant as an Administrator
The information about the system restart could point to a permissions problem. Valorant ought to function properly in either administrator mode or not, in theory. You cannot play Valorant in Windows 11 or 10 with the error “Your game requires a system restart to play” if this game does not have certain service permissions, though.
Enable Vanguard Service
Restart your computer and check to see if the Valorant problem has been removed. If this method does not work, you will need to set the service to run automatically.
Disable driver signature enforcement
All drivers must be digitally signed by Microsoft in order to be installed and loaded into the Windows kernel thanks to a feature in Windows 10 called driver signature enforcement. With the help of this security measure, malware can be kept out of the Windows kernel.

About the Gameplay
Valorant is a free-to-play first-person tactical hero shooter developed and published by Riot Games, for Windows. In the first person, VALORANT is a competitive tactical shooter. It is set in a near-future Earth and stars a cast of individuals known as agents, each of whom has a special set of skills that they can use to create tactical opportunities. Attackers and Defenders, two teams of ten players each, compete to win as many rounds as possible. A team must eliminate the opposing team or complete their team-specific spike objective to win a round. The first team to 13 rounds wins the match. Players must lock in their Agent in the lobby where the action game begins.
The lobby is open for 80 seconds, or until each agent is locked in. Players cannot know which Agent has been chosen on the opposing team until the first Buy Phase because each Agent can only be chosen by one player per team. Prior to each round, there is a 30-second Buy Phase. The majority of the map is inaccessible during Buy Phase, making it impossible for the two teams to collide. Attackers are thus restricted to areas close to their spawn zone and are unable to enter sites, whereas Defenders are free to move between sites but cannot go any further. During this phase, players can also purchase items such as weapons, shields, and skills.
Final Words
That’s it with our article on how to Fix Valorant Game Requires Restart Error. Even before Valorant was introduced, cheating in online first-person shooter games was a major problem. The player’s interest in the action-adventure game may decline and the gaming experience may be ruined. From the beginning, Valorant tried to make up for this weakness with its own Riot Vanguard defence system. The Vanguard system will start automatically after you restart your computer once you’ve installed the game, which is completely normal. The “game requires a system restart” error in VALORANT is one of the most annoying bugs because it disables the “Play” button on the Riot Games client and prevents players from accessing the browser game until the problem is fixed.
