Windows 11 has a built-in Game Bar app that lets you record your screen easily and quickly. However, they cannot record the entire screen, they can record application-specific screens, and they do not give the user control over the recorded area. The Windows 11 Game Bar was originally designed to record footage of your favorite game and how you play it on your screen.

Use the Xbox Game Bar app

Launch the app you want to record.

Press Windows key + G on keyboard to open game bar app.

Now click on the Capture option in the game bar on the top menu.

To include any verbal cues or narration, you can press the microphone button present in the capture panel on the left side of the screen

Click on start of recording button in the capture panel and record the application

Once the recording starts, the capture panel and Xbox game bar will be minimized and you will only see the capture status on the right side.

If you want to switch recording, you can use Windows key + ALT + R.

After recording the clip, you will find a banner on the right side of the screen which you can click to see the list of all recordings

Click show all captures button in the toolbar section of the Gallery view of the game bar app and you can click the play button button on the screen.

Edit the name of the video you just recorded by clicking the edit icon in the lower right section, this will save the video under the new name.

Use the MS PowerPoint application

Open the PowerPoint application and open a new file.

Click on the Insert menu at the top and choose screen recording button. The screen will darken and a toolbar will appear.

Now select the region you want to record and click the red button button to start recording.

When you are satisfied with your recording, you can click Windows key + shift + Q to end this recording.

Save your recording by right-clicking the PowerPoint slide with the recording and from the context menu choose Save Media from the list.

Select the destination where you want to save the file and click OK.
