How to teleport in Minecraft on PC, console, and mobile – Guide

The ability to teleport in Minecraft is not immediately apparent, but it can be done not only on PC, but also on consoles and mobile devices. The good news is, yes. The bad news is that teleportation in Minecraft varies by platform, so there is no one-size-fits-all solution for all Minecraft aficionados.

Teleporting in Minecraft on PC
- Open Minecraft on your PC.
- Create or load the world you want to play in.
- Go to the location you want to teleport to in the future – it could be your base, a farm, or a recreation you’re working on.
- Press F3 + Fn + F3 on PC or Alt + Fn + F3 on Mac to display your current coordinates below the minimap. Write down these coordinates as you will need them to teleport back.
- When you want to teleport, open the console by pressing the / key on your keyboard.
- Enter the teleport command teleport name xyz replacing the name with your character’s username, x with the east / west coordinate, y with the vertical coordinate and z with the north / south coordinate – it must be in the same order you originally wrote the coordinates down on. Your finished command should look something like this: teleport LewwyPaints 2 43 72
- You can also teleport to another player’s location (or bring them to you) using the teleport Bert Ernie command, which will teleport Bert to Ernie’s current location.
- After typing the command, simply press Enter to teleport the player to the selected coordinates.
Teleporting in Minecraft on the console
Before we delve into console-focused teleportation tutorial, it’s important to note that you will only be able to teleport when hosting a multiplayer world and, unlike the PC, you will only be able to teleport to another player’s location.
Now this is out of the way, here it is how to Teleport in Minecraft on PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch.
- Charge up Minecraft from the main console menu.
- Select Play Game and select the world you want to load – but don’t load yet.
- Go to Game Options and make sure Host Privileges is checked.
- Select Load and click OK on the warning that notifies players of missing achievements and leaderboard updates when playing with host privileges.
- Once the game loads, press Options on Xbox or Touchpad on PS4 to access the Host menu.
- Select Host Options and select Teleport to Player.
- This should bring you to a list of all players currently playing in your world. Simply select a user from this list and you will be instantly teleported to your current location.
Teleporting in Minecraft in mobile
While the lack of a physical keyboard can make entering coordinates quite a tiring job, there is also a way to teleport in Minecraft in mobile.
- Open the Minecraft app and load the world you would like to play.
- Access the pause menu by touching the top right corner of the screen – the icon is not always displayed, but it is there.
- Tap on Settings and activate the Cheats button to enable the use of teleportation.
- Close the menu and tap Resume Game.
- Tap the chat icon at the top of the screen.
- To get your current coordinates for future reference, click in the text box and type /tp YourUsername ~~~ making sure to replace YourUsername with your Minecraft username. this won’t teleport you anywhere, but the command menu should display your current coordinates.
- To teleport, tap the chat icon one more time, bring up the text box and type /tp YourUsername XYZ, with X representing the east/west coordinate, Y representing the vertical coordinate, and Z representing the north/south coordinate.
- tap enter button (similar to a chat bubble with an arrow) to teleport your character to the specified coordinates.
