Today, in this article we will show you how to Delete All Keyframes in Blender. A keyframe, which can also be written as “key frame,” is something that shows where a smooth shift starts and/or ends. That something can be a drawing in animation or a certain frame of a film or video shot. Any shot, whether it’s moving or not, is made up of separate frames.
You can think of keyframes as the most important frames of a shot. They set the rules for the other frames and show how things will change as they move from one frame to the next. Check out our guide to frame rates for filmmakers to learn more. Blender is a free, open-source 3D creation suite that helps with almost every step of making a 3D model.
In addition to strong modeling tools, there are also strong tools for painting, rigging, animation, lighting, and a whole lot more. Blender is a great tool, whether you want to only work with static models or get into the world of motion. It also has a video editor and a game engine, so you have a lot of choices when it comes to what you can do.
Ways to Delete All Keyframes in Blender
Delete Keyframes Using Dope Sheet
- Choose all the things you want to change. When you’re happy with your choice, go to the Animation screen.
- Move the cursor over the dope sheet and press the A key to pick everything. Then, press the Delete button.
Delete Keyframes in 3D View
When you’re in 3D View mode, you can delete more than one clip at once. Press Alt + I after you’ve chosen an object to get rid of all keyframes for that object in the frame.
Delete Keyframes in Action Editor
You can also delete keyframes one at a time or in groups using the action editor. You can pick all the keyframes you want to delete by pressing B and then clicking and dragging with the mouse. Delete them all at once by letting go and pressing the Delete button.
Delete Keyframes on Timeline
This is also a good choice if you don’t have too many things to juggle. You can get rid of a keyframe by clicking on it in the Timeline. Once something is chosen, pressing the Spacebar will bring up a list of commands.
Type ‘Delete Keyframe’. To confirm, click left twice. One bad thing about this method is that it only works with single choices. But since you don’t always have to delete multiple keyframes at once, it may help you fine-tune an animation more accurately.
Delete Keyframes from Menu
You can also open a context menu when you pick an object to delete certain animations. When the window comes up, there should be a tag that says “Clear keyframes.” Click that to get rid of every clip.
If you are working with a transform channel, be aware that this will remove all XYZ keyframes. If you don’t want this to happen, choose “Clear single keyframe” instead.
