How to add Chrome Extensions in Kiwi Browser – Guide
Google’s Chromium open source browser is the foundation of many non-Google-powered web browsers. Microsoft Edge for Windows, Brave Browser and Opera are just a few of the top web browsers that run on the Blink browser engine (Chromium browser engine). While all these browsers work on the same engine, the features they support can be very different. Two features Missing from almost all Chromium-based browsers for Android are bookmarks and history sync with Google and support for Chrome extensions. The former can be solved with a desktop extension, so Brave Browser and Samsung Internet offer Chrome Sync features.
However, the latter is much more complicated as the official Google Chromium builds for Android do not support Google Chrome extensions. This hasn’t stopped XDA senior member arnaud42, developer of Kiwi Browser, from supporting Chrome extensions in the latest version of his browser. Kiwi is a fast Chromium-based browser that showed up on our forums last year. Developed by arnaud42, the browser features a built-in dark theme, an ad blocker, a lower address bar, a historic edge swipe gesture, an accessibility button, and many other underlying improvements. The latest browser update now supports importing Google Chrome extensions that are not based on x86 binary code.
This means that not all extensions will work, but many existing Chrome extensions should work fine. Extensions like Stylus, YouTube Dark Theme, Bypass Paywall and even uBlock / uMatrix will work, according to the developer. You can even install TamperMonkey / ViolentMonkey scripts. Kiwi is now the second Chromium-based browser to support extensions designed for the Chrome desktop, after Yandex Browser added support last year.
