Search Location Hashtags
To find photos tagged with a specific location, tap the star-shaped icon on the Instagram app’s main screen to open the Explore screen. For example, type “#Chicago” to find posts tagged with Chicago. Similar tags will appear in the search results below the search box – for example, #ChicagoCubs may also appear in the search results. Tap a hashtag entry in the search results to see starred posts.

Search places on Instagram
If you’re a little flexible with your search criteria, you can use Instagram’s general search bar to enter the name of the place you’re looking for and view the results sorted by Top, Accounts, Audio, Tags and Places. If it’s a business or a popular place, like a nail salon or a famous pizzeria, you can probably find it under Main, Accounts and Places. However, if you’re looking for something like a landmark or a private beach, tags and locations are your best choices, as most search results are user-generated.
