Do you want to know which Apple Watch model you have? Here are some ways to find out the version of your gadget.
Look at the back of your watch
The easiest method to check which technology of Apple Watch you may have is to have a look at the back of your watch. Almost all Apple Watch models contain the series it belongs at the back, except for the first-generation one. This will tell you what your watch’s series is made of, the type of glass, the material the case is made of, and the size.
Find your Apple Watch model number
You can find the model number in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Just go to General and tap on About. Another option is looking at the back of your watch.
How big is your Apple Watch?
Apple has always made two different sizes of an Apple Watch. If you’re selling it, the dial’s size can be useful information.
How old is your Apple Watch?
Note that older generations of Apple Watches continued to be sold even after Apple released later versions. Here are the dates of when certain Apple Watch models were available:
- April 2015 – 1st generation Apple Watch (also known as Series 0) – discontinued 2016
- September 2016 – Apple Watch Series 1 – discontinued 2017
- September 2016 – Apple Watch Series 2 – discontinued 2017
- September 2017 – Apple Watch Series 3 – still available
- September 2018 – Apple Watch Series 4 – not available 2019
- September 2019 – Apple Watch Series 5 – still available
