Even though the Xiaomi 12S Ultra could have been one of the best-selling phones, it didn’t come out outside of China. Yes, we still feel bad about that. But we have some very good news today! The Xiaomi 13 Pro, the company’s newest flagship, shows the way to redemption and gives everyone a chance to own an Ultra that is even better and more polished.
In fact, the flagship Xiaomi 13 duo is now available around the world, and the luxury mid-range Xiaomi 13 Lite is coming along for the ride. The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU is in a small number of smartphones, including the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. But while the Xiaomi 13 is a small phone with a pretty average camera, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is better in every way, including the camera.

Design and Display

The Xiaomi 13 Pro feels and looks high-end. When you pick it up for the first time, you’ll notice how heavy it is. At 229g, it’s one of the heaviest smartphones this size. All of this, along with the curved ceramic back, which is a key part of the high-quality build, gives a great first impression. Like glass, ceramic likes to get fingerprints, which are especially noticeable on the black form we have here for review.
The camera array is hidden in the top left corner of the back, where the top is flat and easy to clean. That’s not like the iPhone or more modern Samsung phones, where each lens sticks out separately. The standard Xiaomi 13 became boxy and had a flat screen, but the 13 Pro still has curves on the front and back. That’s too bad for people who don’t like curved TVs. The phone is a little easier to hold than it would be if the screen was flat and the same size. This is because the size of the screen can stay the same without making the phone harder to use.
Xiaomi 13 Pro: Cameras
It’s mostly made up of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 camera that’s 1 inch wide and works with 50-megapixel wide-angle and zoom cameras. Leica gives the main camera its Vario-Summicron lens and makes sure the lenses on the other two cameras work well. There are also two special “photographic styles” for Leica cameras called Leica Automatic and Leica Vibrant. There are also some filters, including two for black-and-white photos, and the portrait mode has been tweaked.
Xiaomi 13 Pro: Performance

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is an expensive phone, but it’s one of the first from the brand that we can suggest with only a few small warnings. The camera is the trait that stands out. It’s really great, and even after using it for a few weeks, we still want to try new things with it. I think that is a great sign. It has a big, high-resolution screen and a battery that lasts a long time. It also has the latest engine, which gives it a lot of power. You can buy this phone from its official website.
Xiaomi 13 Pro: Battery Life
The phone has a 4,800mAh battery that can be charged wirelessly or with Xiaomi’s 120W HyperCharge system. During the time we had the phone, we often had more than six hours of screen-on time. This includes using the 13 Pro with WQHD+ screen, 120Hz frame rate, and full brightness. The phone can easily last for one and a half days if you use it less intensively and watch less video and play less intensive games. But if you still want to use the charger, it will take about 25 minutes to get the phone from 0% to 100%.
Final Words
Xiaomi’s cameras have gotten better and better over the years, and the 13 Pro is the best one yet. People who want to try new things with their photography will love the phone’s many shooting options, features, and camera tricks. I do think that the device’s selfie picture isn’t the best. When the smartphone’s working power is put to the test, the back panel heats up quite a bit.
Xiaomi 13 Pro review: THE GOOD AND THE BAD
The Good
- Bio-ceramic back, IP68 water/dust resistance
- Great cameras, especially primary sensor.
The Bad
- It’s big and slippery
FAQS
Even though it’s not the best of the early 2023 phones, the performance is good and the battery life is much better than before. It also helps that Xiaomi’s charging options are so strong: 120W wired and 50W wireless.
Some experts think Xiaomi phones might not be as safe as other brands because they are cheaper and might not have as many safety features. Others, though, say that Xiaomi phones are just as safe as any other brand and that people shouldn’t worry about them.
