How to Control Firestick with Remote Access – Guide

If you want to access apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu, Amazon’s Fire TV lineup is hard to beat. From watching movies and live TV to playing games on the big screen, Amazon’s Fire OS devices are the best way to build your entertainment system. The Amazon Fire TV (2nd Gen) was a sleekly designed box that was discontinued in 2018 and replaced by the ever-expanding Fire TV Stick product line, largely driven by the success of the 2016 2nd Gen Fire TV Stick. Amazon also sells the Fire TV Cube. Today you have multiple Amazon Fire TV Stick options, from Classic to 4K, and the tips and tricks discussed here should work for any version of Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire Cube or the old version of Fire.

Over the years, Amazon has updated the models and their design with useful tweaks, including the option to control your TV’s power and volume directly from the remote. Meanwhile, they’ve also improved their software to make it cleaner than ever, so you can find the movies you want to watch and jump right into the action.

How to Control Firestick with Remote Access

To control a Firestick from anywhere, we must first download the Vysor application on both computers.

Visit the Vysor website and click Download.

Select your operating system. We are using Windows.

This message may appear if you are running Windows Defender. Click Run Anyway as this software came back virus/malware free after scanning.

After Vysor is finished downloading, click Allow Access.

The Vysor application will launch on your Windows PC. Then click Connect network or shared device.

You will notice that a device network address is required for connection. This is the IP address found in the Fire TV settings.

Launch your Firestick/Fire TV and under the settings icon click on My Fire TV.

Click Developer Options.

Make sure ADB debugging is ON.

click on the back button and then select About.

Hover over the network and note your Firestick’s IP address.

Return to Vysor and enter the IP address from the previous step. Then click Connect.

You should notice in the green box that an Android device (Firestick) is now connected to Vysor.

Then click the play icon to request remote access to your Windows PC’s local network.

Now you can control any Firestick/Fire TV or Android TV Box via computer on your network.

To allow access to your device from outside the network, click the share button in Viewer.

The Vysor share link will be automatically copied to your clipboard. You must now email that link to the person you want to grant access to.

The person receiving the email will copy the link.

In the Vysor app, click Connect Network or Shared Device.

Paste the Vysor link from Step 17.

Click Connect.

Remote access on Firestick is now established.

You are now connected and can remotely control your Firestick or Android device!
