Install Spotify on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Debian using the Deb package

To install Spotify’s desktop client, open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T) and use the following commands:
sudo sh -c ‘echo “deb http://repository.spotify.com stable not free” >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/spotify.list’
This will add the above repository to the list of software sources. Now make sure you have curl installed on your Ubuntu system:
sudo apt install curl
With the help of curl, download and add the GPG key from the Spotify repository that you have added to the sources list. This is mandatory because your system needs to trust this repository.
curl -sS https://download.spotify.com/debian/pubkey.gpg | sudo apt-key add –
The next one is simple. Update and install the Spotify client.
sudo apt update
sudo apt install spotify-client
That’s all you need to do. Then you can start Spotify looking for it Unity Dash (on Ubuntu). It integrates very well into the Ubuntu environment.
