How to Use Breakout Rooms in a Teams Meeting – Guide
Perhaps you are in training and want people to work in smaller groups temporarily. You might want departments to have their own mini-meetings and then come back to the main meeting and give feedback to the entire group. Microsoft Teams can do this for you automatically (an equal number of participants will be randomly assigned to a themed room, with a maximum of 5-6 people each). Group rooms allow a meeting organizer to divide their participants into multiple online rooms for discussion and collaboration in Microsoft Teams.
A prompt to create themed rooms will appear. Select the number of themed rooms to be created. you can create up for 50 breakout rooms. If you choose Automatic, Microsoft Teams will randomly place participants in rooms. If you select manually, you can assign participants to specific rooms. Manually assigning themed rooms is shown for the next steps.
